Lisa Rinna Shares Explains Why Fans Don’t Like Her On Why Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills

Picture it – it’s 2014 and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is in its 5th season. Lisa Vanderpump is still queen of the cast. Brandi Glanville and Kim Richards are suddenly friends. Eileen Davidson is toting around a beat up non-designer purse. Yolanda is still a Foster. Enter Lisa Rinna and chaos immediately ensues. Never forget Lisa and Kim going at it during a cast trip to Amsterdam, where Kim wants to “talk about the husband.” Rinna breaks a glass and Kyle Richards escapes out the back door, running like a bee is hot on her tail. That’s how Rinna came on the scene.

Interestingly enough, Rinna almost became a housewife on season 1 of the show but didn’t make the cut. Producers thought she would be a great fit but it was Andy Cohen who axed her. He recalled, “Lisa Rinna had been on so many reality shows, it just seemed like a parody to me. For me, it needed to be about real women. I didn’t think we should have an actress, and I didn’t think any of them should be famous.”

Lisa clearly made up for lost time. She’s now one of the most controversial housewives out there. Rinna is a known pot-stirrer and has no problem being in the middle of drama. Her catchphrase might be “own it, baby” but Lisa usually manages to wiggle her way out of just about everything. Of course, Rinna doesn’t see it that way. She recently spoke with Newsweek and discussed why she thinks fans have repeatedly pegged her as the villain. Said Lisa, “Because I’m honest. And I’ll tell you what, no one’s more heated than someone who’s honest.”

She continued, “The truth is a tough pill for people to take. I’m honest and people would prefer me not to be and I’d be liked a lot more, but that’s not what you’re ever going to get.” Lisa added, “What you see is what you get with me. Most people don’t like that because they don’t want to know the truth. I think, in a nutshell, that’s why I’m so polarizing on the show. You either love me or you hate me. There’s really no in between. I’m okay with that.”

But one thing Lisa wants viewers to understand is that it is a reality show at the end of the day. She noted that fans don’t get to see her in what she describes as “calmer situations.” Rinna shared, “The show does show you a side of me that isn’t really the side of me that everybody lives with on a daily basis. I’m more fun. I’m calmer.”

Lisa concluded, I think the skew happens for the fan base as they think I’m much more angry and mean than I really am in life. I’m just reacting off of what I’m being thrown on the show.”

TELL US – DO YOU CONSIDER LISA A VILLAIN? IS SHE GOOD FOR THE SHOW? DO YOU AGREE THAT FANS DON’T LIKE HER BECAUSE SHE’S “HONEST?” ARE YOU A LISA FAN?
