They’ve gone country – look at them boots! Recent gossip has been speculating that Bravo is hoping to explore it’s southern roots and expand their Real Housewives franchise below the Mason-Dixon line. Real Housewives of Atlanta has long remained one of the most popular of the Housewives franchises and with all the recent country fascination it seems the network that has brought us wealthy ladies behaving badly from everywhere wants to get in on the action!
Rumors have been circulating for a while that a Real Housewives of Dallas was in the works, but we haven’t heard much about an alleged franchise in quite some time. Perhaps with all the other Texas reality shows, Bravo is thinking the lonestar state is played out. Now comes rumors that a Housewives series from the birthplace of country music and the Grand Ole Opry may be coming our way. That’s right, y’all Real Housewives of Nashville! Woo-HOO! I would so love this.

More than likely Bravo is exploring both locations and whichever one has more interest will get the greenlight.
Now, I’m a southern girl myself and I’m dang proud of my roots and there is nothing I’d like to see more than some classy southern ladies (yeah… Kim Zolciak – I’m not including you in the “classy” category) showing us how it’s really done.
Adding to the speculation that this is a very real possibility on the Housewives roster, a casting announcement for “Housewives” recently appeared in the Nashville Scene. Can I just say they never, ever cast anyone from these things – it’s all word of mouth.
“Are YOU a Real Housewife of Nashville? Part of Nashville’s Elite?” the announcement wonders. If not, that’s even better – so do not hesitate to embarrass yourself on national television and go into bankruptcy pretending you are!
Advertised that they are looking to cast a new reality show from the producers of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Real Housewives of Orange County, they want successful, powerful (re: willing to spout her mouth off and start drama) women with an outstanding (re: crazy) personality!
They are hoping for women on the music scene, which is why Kandi Burruss was filming in Tennessee this last season of Real Housewives of Atlanta – they were totally probably scouting for wives in the industry.
Well, we’ll keep you posted on the latest! Hopefully this means they are phasing other locations out of the franchise in the hopes of getting some new blood, but knowing Bravo they’re just adding one more version of HW to an already filled to bursting roster!
