After an eventful three months, The Bachelor Season 28 is finally complete! The three-hour finale was nothing short of eventful, and we were on the edge of our seats the entire time. In the end, it was revealed that Joey Graziadei proposed to Kelsey Anderson, and the couple is still happily together today.
While Joey ended up finding the fairy tale love he had been looking for, the road to it was anything but easy. The Bachelor Season 28 finale was full of twists and turns, but these three moments were by far the craziest.
Daisy realized Joey wasn’t choosing her after their final date
Going into the finale, it seemed like Kelsey and Daisy Kent were on a very equal playing field. Both women had a strong connection with Joey from the jump, and it was clear that he was torn between the two women at a point.
However, after her final date with Joey, Daisy immediately picked up on the fact that something was off between them. This is rare when it comes to Bachelor Nation, as the final two contestants are always pretty confident after the last date. Daisy’s intuition didn’t fail her, and she began preparing herself for heartbreak the minute Joey left their last date.
Daisy’s worries kicked off after she told Joey that she loved him when his response was pretty telling. Joey didn’t indicate that he also loved Daisy, and instead seemed to be preparing her for the worst. Joey gave the typical “you are so special” break-up speech, which Daisy immediately caught on to. While it was terrible to watch her so hurt, she still stood her ground like the queen she was.
Later on at After The Final Rose, Daisy admitted that she had known even earlier that it wasn’t her. After the fantasy suite week rose ceremony, Daisy recalled Joey and Kelsey looking at one another while toasting. Daisy said that at that moment she knew she wasn’t Joey’s final choice, since he never looked at her the same way. Poor Daisy!
Daisy & Kelsey made Bachelor Nation history!
The most shocking moment from the finale, was when Daisy and Kelsey rode to the final rose ceremony together. In Bachelor Nation history, the final two contestants always ride separately to this. This is because producers don’t want to spoil who the final choice is, as the contestant not chosen always goes to see the lead first. Not only do they travel there separately, but typically they do not see each other at all after the fantasy suite week rose ceremony.
After Daisy realized that she wasn’t the winner, she went to tell Kelsey how she was feeling. Kelsey was more than happy to see Daisy, as the women had built a strong bond throughout the season. After talking about their weeks, the women chose to go to the proposal site together, which had never been done in Bachelor history. No wonder Jesse Palmer promised a historic ending to the season, this was crazy.
Jenn is the next Bachelorette?!
The biggest wildcard of the night was The Bachelorette Season 21 lead announcement, which I can confidently say no one saw coming. Daisy had previously hinted that she would not be the next lead in an interview with Jesse, where she admitted that she wasn’t ready to date again. After Daisy dropped this bombshell, everyone was sure that Maria Georgas was a shoo-in. She was a fan favorite, and there was a ton of support for her to be the next lead.
Former Bachelorette Charity Lawson did the honors of passing on the torch to the next lead. When Charity revealed that Jenn Tran would be the next leading lady, Bachelor Nation viewers everywhere were shook. While there is absolutely nothing wrong with Jenn, it seems like an odd choice. She was eliminated before hometowns, and she didn’t get that so-called Bachelorette edit some of her fellow cast members did.
Apart from Daisy and Maria, multiple other women from the season would’ve made more sense to lead than Jenn. One of these women would be Rachel Nance, who went home after fantasy suite week. We got to learn way more about Rachel than we did about Jenn, however, we are still so excited to watch Jenn’s journey.
