They’re just hot-mics, but they work quite well. The Summer House reunion is still running through my mind. The shifts in friendships. The growing rift between young and old. And then Amanda Batula was caught talking sideways about her co-star/friend/wedding officiant/and employee (?) during a filming pause!
While the cast gathered off the set for a break, Amanda was recorded saying, “Carl [Radke] works for us” adding that he is a friend and has been an “important part” of her life with Kyle. Carl is not only best friends with Amanda’s husband, but he also doubles as the VP of sales for Kyle’s business, Loverboy.
After Amanda was caught putting herself above Carl in a business she doesn’t own or run, Paige DeSorbo called Carl an “asshole” straight out. Amanda corrected her saying Carl has merely been “tainted by Lindsay [Hubbard]” OUCH!
The sneakily released moment was clocked by fans immediately. An account posted the quote from Amanda saying, “When Amanda said ‘he works for us’ about Carl…not the Amanda we see on TV.” Really? That’s not the same entitled weirdo who won’t sign a prenup because she doesn’t have the gumption to use Google and understand what it is? I’m still so confused about who the “us” is, that Carl works for.
Kyle, chivalrously probably under duress, came to Amanda’s rescue. Just like he promised her former keeper father he would. It all adds up. According to @commentsbybravo he tried to explain the hot-mic comment by writing, “This was taken out of context.”
Kyle didn’t take any time to explain the missing context or to apologize for Amanda’s possible misspeak. Instead, he chided, “Believe it or not, social media can actually be a catalyst for some falling outs and makes it harder for our show to remain true to its concept: it’s about a group of friends.” A group of friends who wanted fame and Instagram likes, to be sure.
Kyle added, “Amanda was reminding Paige that Carl is a big part of our lives. The ridicule and hate has gotten out of hand.” Sorry, not sorry.
Is anyone going to soft-address the “tainted by Lindsay” of it all?
TELL US – DO YOU THINK AMANDA MISSPOKE? IF SO, WHY DIDN’T SHE JUST APOLOGIZE? IS IT SOCIAL MEDIA’S JOB TO PROTECT THE SANCTITY OF SUMMER HOUSE FRIENDSHIPS?
