Ramona Singer Reportedly Refuses To Film Real Housewives Of New York Until Salary Demands Are Met

Ramona Singer has done something few other Housewives have accomplished–survived 11 seasons of a Real Housewives show. The Real Housewives of New York star has done it Ramona-style, giving us classic Housewife moments, such as her pop-eyed catwalk, embarrassing herself with awkward social gaffes and demanding the best room and service on nearly every Housewife cast trip.

Season 12 of RHONY is reportedly filming, minus Bethenny Frankel, who recently announced she was leaving the show. It is difficult to imagine the impact that departure will have, but the show has survived without Bethenny before. Could the show also survive without OG Ramona?

HollywoodLife reported that Ramona is holding out for more money to film Season 12. A source revealed, “Ramona Singer is refusing to film for RHONY right now as she is hoping to get a bigger bump in salary.” Last-minute salary negotiations can go many different ways, so if the source is accurate, Ramona might be playing a dangerous game.

Why would Ramona choose this time to hold out for a higher salary? According to the insider, “She feels like she is an OG of the show and now with Bethenny gone, there is more money, so she went back to Bravo asking for more and is unhappy with her initial offers. She knows her worth and is holding her ground.”

Does Bravo have a formula to determine Ramona’s worth? Is she more valuable than the Real Housewives of Orange County’s OG Vicki Gunvalson, who was demoted for Season 14? Surely, Ramona is worth more than OC’s Gina Kirschenheiter, who was reportedly paid a paltry $68,450 for her first season of the show. It is difficult to place a value on a reality star. And Ramona, I am sure, considers herself priceless!

Apparently, Ramona is optimistic for the outcome of her salary holdout. The source further shared, “Ramona is confident that it will all get figured out in time. She is hopeful this will all get worked out. She loves the show and what it does for her.” I bet she would love the show just a bit more if they paid her a little–or a lot more.

It seems that Ramona has already been in front of the cameras for Season 12. The insider added, “She has filmed a few scenes, but hasn’t officially signed her contract yet as the ladies can film without signing on if they choose and that’s what Ramona has done. Ramona is living her best life in the Hamptons until this gets worked out.”

Of course, Ramona is luxuriating in the Hamptons. You know she is not hanging out at Luann de Lesseps’ round house in the less glamorous Catskills, asking the former Countess for contract negotiating advice.

It seems unlikely that Ramona would ever leave the show willingly. She thrives on the show’s attention and would probably be popping up in the background during filming if she was ever let go! It is also difficult to believe Bravo would not work out a deal with Ramona since Bethenny just left the show.

Tinsley Mortimer has reportedly been seen filming with rumored new cast member Leah McSweeney. It will probably only be a matter of time before Ramona is back in front of the cameras, toiling away for Season 12. A tough job, but someone has to do it.
