Lindsay Hubbard Branded ‘The Problem’ by Summer House Cast

Summer House viewers that were either Carl Radke fans or Lindsay Hubbard fans can at least agree on one thing this season; the two were having quite serious arguments in the months before their would-be marriage.

Most recently, the formerly betrothed couple got into an argument on a cast night out. Lindsay felt that her then-fiancé was being aggressive and dismissing her feelings about being uncomfortable in the house. She then accused Carl of being under the influence, taking their conflict to a whole new level.

Lindsay shared her accusations with Gabby Prescod, Danielle Olivera, and Amanda Batula. Carl spoke to his bestie, Kyle Cooke. The former publicist’s words shocked her co-stars. And the Loverboy founder was the most vocal about his concerns for the marriage moving forward.

Kyle predicted “long life” of compromises with Lindsay

“I love Lindsay to death, but my biggest issue as a friend [is] for years, she never takes accountability, responsibility,” Kyle opined during a conversation with Carl the night after the fight. “She never owns up.”

“Last night was unacceptable,” the Loverboy founder said of Lindsay’s accusation that “cocaine Carl” had emerged. “I can see you trying to make compromises. You’re trying to solve the problem. Last night she was the problem.”

Ciara Miller also expressed concern about the relationship in a future conversation with the reality TV star.

After Carl admitted to be “sad” and fearful of his upcoming wedding, Kyle shared more of his concerns.

“What worries me is, how many times does something go down like that where she is pinning it on you when it literally had nothing to do with you?” he said. “That’s a long life of falling on the sword. Like how many times are you going to do that?”

When the housemates went to the beach for the afternoon, Carl and Lindsay were finally able to calmly discuss what went down the night prior.

“I didnt’ mean to dismiss you. I love you so much. I was trying to comfort you a little last night … [or] so I thought,” Carl said to the former publicist.

Lindsay’s rebuttal was that Carl’s “mood” at the club triggered memories of him when he was still using cocaine and alcohol.

“I have PTSD from old Carl sometimes. Old Carl, to me, came out last night,” she stated, after admitting that she shouldn’t have made that accusation.

“It seemed like it came from a place that you thought I was really lying to you and saying that I’m not sober,” he responded.

“I’m scared of old Carl too,” he added, despite being “hurt” from the accusation.

How was Carl “going to maintain” sobriety with a non-sober partner?

By the end of the episode, there was a feeling that the couple had found resolution after the fight. But the issue of the Bravolebrity’s sobriety versus the relationship Lindsay has with alcohol came up again. This time at a group dinner that only Carl was present at.

“How the f*ck do you think you’re going to maintain that in the long run?” Ciara asked. “Being in a relationship with someone who drinks and has a tendency to be obnoxious and rude when she’s drinking [has to be hard].”

“It’s hard sometimes,” Carl sad before adding that Lindsay has “gotten better.” In an emotional statement, the Loverboy added that he and his former lady love “always come back together.”

Another disconnect for the duo was Carl’s struggle to find himself after quitting Loverboy in November of 2022.

“We have been trying to figure out what he’s into,” Lindsay said in a confessional interview. “He hired a career coach for six months [that cost] $20,000. It’s been a journey trying to figure out who Carl wants to be when he grows up.”

While Carl was leaning towards opening a “sports bar with no alcohol,” Lindsay shot down the idea of a “sober sports bar.”

“I’m going to have to say no to that one,” Lindsay interjected. “I’m telling you, I don’t want that for our future family.”

Carl had no response. And such is the feeling of disconnect that Summer House viewers are sensing. Season 8 is certainly living up to the hype.
