Adiós, Miami! At least that’s what Dr. Nicole Martin is saying when it comes to her nuptials to fiancé Anthony Lopez. The Real Housewives of Miami star got engaged on New Year’s Eve 2021 while on vacation in Aspen. So it only makes sense that she is finally moving on to wedding planning.
Now she’s telling People that after attending multiple destination weddings as guests, she would like one of her own. Nicole began, “I just love the idea of the destination wedding vibe. In Miami, you get married, you’ve got four hours, and the party’s over. But when you travel, you’ve got a welcome night, then you have a day party, then the night party, and it’s four or five days where you really get to enjoy your people,” the bride-to-be explained.
So where is she thinking? Nicole said they have “thrown around the idea” of St. Barth, Greece, and Saint-Tropez. Overall, the couple is just hoping for “something fun.”
Given their busy schedules, the anesthesiologist hasn’t set an official date. But said they have “always been the type of couple that likes to do things on our own accord.” Nicole added, “People are like, ‘OK, you get engaged, you get married, then you have a kid.’ We were like, ‘Oh, f— it. We’re going to have a kid,’ and then we were like, ‘We’re never going to get married, and he’s like, ‘You know what? Screw it. Let’s get engaged.'”

The couple met at the Wynn Resort lobby in Las Vegas in 2015 and share a young son together. “When it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be,” Nicole shared. She also gushed that Anthony is “incredibly handsome,” and is “funny, and he’s sarcastic.”
Aside from all of Anthony’s attributes, Nicole stated that they “complement each other in the best ways.” Especially since they’re both “ambitious individuals.” She elaborated, “It’s hard to find someone that wants to see you succeed. I feel like people just don’t want their partner to do well because they want to keep them in a box or they want to keep them in a cage, but I feel like we both give each other the space to spread our wings,” Nicole added.
The RHOM housewife concluded, “At the end of the day, if you give your partner enough space, they’re always going to come back. It’s kind of like that whole bird in hand, let him go. And I just feel like we’ve got this thing where we just give each other the support that we need to grow.”
