Real Housewives of Salt Lake City might be the best show on TV these days. This season has just been a knockout to watch, and I love each of the leading ladies differently. Lisa Barlow may set up storylines to cause drama, but she’s already an extremely quotable and relatable legend. Heather Gay’s evolution from a quiet Mormon wife to a free-thinking businesswoman is always fascinating to watch. And we can’t forget Mary Cosby. She may be living on her own planet (and have a habit of making seriously NOT OKAY comments), but she’s literally made for reality TV.
I was worried RHOSLC Season 2 would be the Jen Shah arrest show, Erika Jayne style. But each of the snowflake holders is BRINGING IT. As the season comes to a close, we can look forward to what’s sure to be another action-packed reunion. But unfortunately, Scary Mary didn’t show up to film. She follows the footsteps of Real Housewives like Jacqueline Laurita, Lisa Vanderpump, and Adrienne Maloof in skipping the reunion without facing the music.
Mother Mary clearly wasn’t a fan of reunions, considering she fell asleep at the first one. And this go-around was bound to be 10x harder than her explaining her marriage and her chaotic closet last year. She’s made some seriously offensive remarks toward newbie Jennie Nguyen and hasn’t even made an attempt to hold herself accountable.
Oh wait, I forgot — she did release a half-hearted Notes app apology in live, laugh, love font. Mary needs to check her words, but she shouldn’t have quit the show without finishing the season. If JEN SHAH can show up to this reunion after the year she’s been having, Mary could’ve went, said her peace, and gone her way. And apparently, Andy Cohen agrees with me.

Andy recently explained Mary’s absence at the RHOSLC reunion on his SiriusXM show Radio Andy (via Queens of Bravo). It was “disappointing” to the Bravo Boss that Mary didn’t show up to film. However, it wasn’t a total shock that she was a no-show. “I had a sense. I spoke to her on New Year’s Eve a few hours before I went on the air,” Andy said. “We had a long talk and it’s her story to tell, but I got the sense that she was not finding gratitude in being on the show anymore.” Fair, but she still should’ve gone to stand her ground.
The Watch What Happens Live host then explained what he dislikes about Real Housewives that skip out on the reunion. “You allow others to control your narrative. As your last gesture, I would much rather hear from her,” Andy said. He acknowledged that Mary was “an integral part” of RHOSLC’s success. That’s a fact. I think everyone tuned into SLC just to see the woman who married her step-grandpa and runs a cult church. And that was just the beginning of the tornado that is Mary Cosby. Unfortunately, it looks like her story ends without a final goodbye.
