In the wake of category 4 storm hurricane Ida in Louisiana, one Bravoleb is working to provide some substantial relief to those affected by the disaster. Newsweek reports that former Real Housewives of New York City star, entrepreneur and solidified philanthropist Bethenny Frankel, has raised a 1.5 million relief effort through her program Bstrong: Disaster Relief. The initiative began as a Hurricane Harvey relief effort in 2017. Bstrong shows no signs of slowing down. Bstrong delivered more than 110 million in international aid through its partnership with Global Empowerment Mission (GEM).
Bstrong’s response to each crisis is different. But, generally, the organization aims to tackle the logistics of collecting, storing, and delivering survival goods to populations hit the hardest in crisis situations.
These provisions are possible through monetary donations, corporate donations, and low administration costs. Survival boxes vary based on the crisis. The boxes contain food, medical supplies, battery powered lights, and prepaid debit cards. Prepaid debit cards provide families purchasing power in times of crisis. This has been a principal of Bstrong’s disaster relief missions.
Bethenny said, “We’re always ready to go ahead of time. And when we can predict these storms, we can be ready to run and gun. It’s like a Costco how organized it is.”
Bethenny discussed Bstrong’s work in Louisiana. Recently, they facilitated one of their largest deliveries. Bstrong provided survival boxes to 2000 people. The RHONY alum explained, “You have to do it like it’s a military operation. You have to know that you can get in, that it’ll be safe, and have the right people doing it. We have former Green Berets helping people put roofs on their houses.”

Updates on the Bstrong initiative in Louisiana can be found on the GEM website. Bethenny posts updates and calls to action to her Instagram, @BethennyFrankel. In addition to natural disasters, Bstrong responds to other crises. People reports Bstrong worked in June to raise funds and deliver goods to those affected by the Miami Building collapse. Bstrong also has ongoing initiatives in Haiti Hurricane recovery efforts.
Bethenny has recently admitted on Twitter to being disconnected from the Real Housewives of New York. Earlier this year admitted she doesn’t watch any of the shows. Considering the pressing need for the aid her philanthropic program provides, it’s easy to see why Bethenny may feel preoccupied.
Bethenny said, “you can’t focus on one thing that you’re interested in now. There’s Louisiana, Haiti, Afghanistan, Cuba, take your pick.” If no Bethenny return to RHONY means she can continue to concentrate on this type of work, we are here for it! (We’ll even forgive her for not watching.)

TELL US- DO YOU THINK OTHER HOUSEWIVES SHOULD DO MORE WITH THEIR PLATFORMS WITH RESPECT TO PHILANTHROPIC CAUSES? SHOULD THE CHARITABLE VENTURES OF HOUSEWIVES BE FEATURED MORE PROMINENTLY ON THE SHOWS? DO YOU WANT BETHENNY BACK ON RHONY?
