Craig Conover Wants To Be The Next Martha Stewart

D’awww. Our darling Craig Conover is still forging his way through adulthood in the purest way. We’ve missed you buddy!  After a long break, fans of Southern Charm were finally given their fix this past month with the season trailer release. A lot has changed since we last saw this rag-tag crew of privileged people trying to flaunt the finer things while stumbling around drunk, having post-reunion babies with each other, and just being flat out racist assholes.

This year we will see a cast void of Naoimi Olindo and Cameran Eubanks. Instead we will watch Leva BonepartCameran’s BFF, find her way through this group. Anyways, what’s that saying? The more things change the more they stay the same? Let’s get back to Craigy.

Page Six  is reporting that Craig still has his sights set on becoming a male Martha Stewart. Bless his heart. Craig revealed, about his new collection “I kind of really like the path — a lot of the path that Martha Stewart took and being the male Martha Stewart with a home decor line would be great and that’s the direction we’re going in.”

Craig shared some more details on his creative journey. He said, “So our partner Amanda really keeps us on a leash or tethered down in a good way because I want to do everything all at once, but obviously, you need to focus on one thing at a time or a couple of things at a time.” Team Amanda! If she can help this dude focus then she is a queen among peasants.

Craig disclosed about his new Sewing Down South x Thomasville collection, “We’ll get a lot more extensive into kitchenware, which will be great. We’re going to move into dog beds. Stuff like that. And then hopefully a bedding line and towels and basically just the full spectrum of our home decor company.”

Will this new line have notes of Martha included? No. Craig would rather keep his inspo local. He explained, “Charleston isn’t that big of a city, which is great, and you can really find some unique places in the city that you’ve never seen before.” Like the bars you’re hanging out in during a pandemic? Just wondering….

But nah, Craig added, “And just with the textures and colors of history and it’s fun, you know, this city really goes back a while and there’s a lot of antiques and a lot of old furniture and as you see the ebbs and flows of the design world, there’s always something from this city to kind of be applied to new designs.”

Craig is also excited to meet Martha someday. He recounted, “They sent me a really nice package, a huge box with all of these products from all of her lines whether it was crafting or cooking or drinkware and her book with a really nice note in it. So that was cool…but I’ve not met her yet.”
