Luann de Lesseps catches a lot of flack for her mentions of the cabaret on Real Housewives of New York. She has had no problem sharing her excitement for achieving a lifelong dream of hers.
Of course, she has to thank the Real Housewives of New York fans for supporting this dream and attending her shows, but reality TV wasn’t her first stint in entertainment. Before she became a Real Housewife of New York, Luann was an Italian television star. And, at another point in her life, she was actually working as a registered nurse. That’s quite the mix there.
Since no one is going to a cabaret anytime soon thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, Luann has revisited her old profession. And, no, she’s not making cameo appearances on Italian television. She’s actually helping out someone in need by applying her nursing experience.
Luann shared the life update during an appearance on the Juicy Scoop with Heather McDonald podcast in July 2020.
Lu told Heather, “There was an ad in the local newspaper in the Hamptons for someone to look after their 88-year-old mother. So, I answered it. Now, I’ve been looking after this woman, who is lovely.”

That is actually so sweet. It is so nice of Luann to use her time and experience to help out someone who needs it.
Now, I’m wondering if the person who placed the ad happens to be a Real Housewives of New York viewer. If that is the case, I would have loved to see the reaction when Lu responded to the ad.

Luann revealed, “I want to nursing school, and for the most part, I was a geriatic nurse. I love the elderly because I never really knew my grandparents and they died quite young and they were in Canada.”
She concluded, “Listen, with covid and everything else, I just wanted to do something more with my time, so I’ve been helping her every week.” Aaaww. It’s refreshing to hear something nice for a change, especially these days.
