Wow, Bethenny, wow. This is truly the end of an era. Bethenny Frankel is done with Real Housewives of New York. Who saw this coming? After a rough Season 10 feuding with Carole Radziwill, Bethenny had a great follow up with Season 11.
At the very least, she ended things on a high note, on good terms with almost everyone. She’s even in a stable relationship with Paul Bernon, who does not want to be on this show, so this does make some sense. Still, it really does feel so sudden. Who’s going to reveal Luann de Lesseps’ private secrets? Who is going to put Ramona Singer in her place?
In a statement to Variety, Bethenny declared, “I have decided to leave the ‘Housewives’ franchise to explore my next chapter.”
So what will she be doing instead? Bethenny said, “It’s time to move on and focus on my daughter, my philanthropy and my production partnership with Mark Burnett, producing and starring in shows which represent a shift in the conversation for women. With the changes in modern culture, I want to highlight the strength, confidence and unstoppable power that women have.” Does this mean that there’s a new Bethenny-focused show in the works? It sure sounds like it.
Bethenny concluded, “My experience at Bravo has been an incredibly magical ride. I am so grateful to them for highlighting my entrepreneurialism and allowing me to pave the way for many women to achieve their goals. I am excited for my future. The best is yet to come.”
This is the end of an era. For now, anyway. She has quit the show before and come back. So, you never know. But, wow, what wild year to be a Real Housewives OG. Lisa Vanderpump quit Real Housewives of Beverly Hills before the reunion. Vicki Gunvalson got demoted to a Friend of the Housewives on RHOC.
