Bethenny Frankel of the Real Housewives of New York has never shied from conflict. So she’s still fighting her ex-husband Jason Hoppy over custody of their 8-year-old daughter Bryn Hoppy. Bethenny divorced Jason in 2016. However, their battle over Bryn rages on.
The conflict is so toxic that it made an expert parent coordinator quit in 2015 when the couple still lived together. Not surprisingly, he singled out their lack of willingness to compromise. Well, matters have not improved since Bethenny has returned to court to seek full custody.
An article from Us Weekly reported that Bethenny had to defend her use of social media during their latest skirmish. Jason’s lawyer asked Bethenny about her Instagram account on Tuesday, May 14. According to Radar Online, the lawyer was referring to a video Bethenny posted of herself crying over the loss of her beloved dog Cookie in October 2017.
“Isn’t a fact that you would rather take advice from 2 million followers then Jason?” the lawyer asked Bethenny. Umm, is that a real question? “You were looking to exploit this tragic situation?… You were doing it for attention, correct?”
“No, I don’t need attention,” said no reality star ever Bethenny replied.
Jason’s lawyer pushed the issue. He asked Bethenny, “Why do you feel the need to share your personal life each time with your 2 million followers?”

“I know a lot of my fans,” Bethenny replied. “I do a lot of book signings. They help support me, and they help me pay Jason’s rent, and they are the people that are allowing me to stand on my own two feet,” Bethenny fired back.
“That’s how I made money to pay Jason millions of dollars,” Bethenny continued. “That’s how he is paying your legal bills. That’s why you have this job right now. That’s how Jason can afford his rent, and that’s how I can afford my rent and support my daughter.” That’s how a Real Housewives all-star deals with pesky questions.
Bethenny has previously accused Jason of emotional abuse, which he denied. On Tuesday in court, she claimed that she didn’t want to make an orthodontist appointment for her daughter until after the trial because Jason would be present.

“An appointment with Jason is abusing me, making fun of me. An appointment with Jason is a torture chamber,” Bethenny told the judge. “It is a vacuum of abuse. Going to an appointment with Jason is not a good idea, because he uses every way to abuse me when no one is looking….No, I will not be in a room with Jason Hoppy.”
It sounds like a nightmare from which you can’t wake up. Sadly, I doubt any of it can be solved in court.
