Fans of Real Housewives of New York have witnessed the tumultuous relationship between Bethenny Frankel and her ex-husband Jason Hoppy. Their divorce proceedings lasted longer than the actual marriage.
During the various seasons, viewers were able to witness the stress the Skinnygirl maven was under whenever the topic of her ex came up. Well, it appears as though things are coming to a head as the former couple is now battling things out in court. Again.
According to an article in Us Weekly, the former couple is back in court fighting over custody of their 8-year-old daughter Bryn. Bethenny is requesting sole custody because of “the father’s behavior before and after their marriage is extremely harmful to Bryn,” her attorney stated in court.
During opening statements, Jason was accused of “physically pulling the child away…,” and leaving out articles about Bethenny that were less than flattering which goes against the disparity agreement the two had.
A text message exchange shared by Page Six was read in court. Jason allegedly wrote, “you’re perceived as a mean girl.” And Bethenny responded by writing, “Fyi, this ‘mean girls’ rating are way up.”

Oh boy. Just as you would expect, this response prompted the two to engage in a “mature” conversation. Jason fired back that Bethenny is their daughter’s role model for women “unfortunately.” And, of course, Bethenny, who can never just let someone have the last word, replied to that. She supposedly wrote, “Thank god, you’re the example of a deadbeat man…”
Surprisingly, Jason apologized to Bethenny during cross-examination, according to People. He reportedly said, “I take full responsibility for the comments I have made.”
Is this Jason being sincere? Or a manipulator trying to look good in court? Who really knows. But what is clear is that Bethenny and Jason need to grow up. They need to realize that at least one of them needs to be the adult in the co-parenting relationship.

If someone sends a nasty message you know what you do? IGNORE IT. Hopefully, whatever the final order is the two of them will realize none of this is good for their daughter. And maybe the Countess Luann de Lesseps knew what she was talking about when she sang “money can’t buy you class.”
