After many seasons of Real Housewives of New York with the cast members accusing Carole Radziwill of sucking up to Bethenny Frankel and being cliquey, it looks like we have a major friendship rift on the horizon.
It was teased in the trailer with Bethenny saying “Carole isn’t as excited to see me as she used to be.” And Carole pulls a Danielle Staub, telling Bethenny, “Don’t call me honey.” As of this moment, we don’t know the specifics behind their animosity, but the editors definitely laid the groundwork for a feud between the former besties in the Season 10 premiere episode.
In her first Bravo blog post of the season, Carole teased, “This is going to be an edge-of-your-seat season. Ten for ten. There is so much going on in my life but I will begin at the beginning.” YES. Thank god Real Housewives of New York is back. After a year of lackluster seasons from other cities in the franchise (I’m looking at you Orange County and Beverly Hills), the New York City ladies are back on my television and I couldn’t be happier about it.
One thing, I’m not “happy” about, but I’m admittedly curious to see is this falling out between Carole and Bethenny. Carole warned, “Tis a running theme this season about my clothes. Bethenny, it seems, is oddly fixated on my outfits. It starts right here in episode one and doesn’t let up until the finale. Wait for it.”
Carole wrote, “Ohhhh Luann, my love…. When we first met, five years ago, I thought you were so pretty, and tall. You bought me an elephant ring for no reason and that was sweet.”
After a trip down memory lane, Carole concluded, “I’ve since gotten to know you and honestly think you are without guile or harm. I honestly think you are just a tiny bit tone deaf.” She definitely overdid it on that bronzer for her Diana Ross costume.
Carole continued, “Luann and I always get into something…we have a hate/love relationship. I say it that way intentionally, as we start off the year the former and end with the latter. What would a season be if she were not condescending to me and I insulting back? This is our dance each year.” And I look forward to it every single season.
Carole kept it real: “Yes, she got married and divorced in less time it took me to finish the marathon. And yes, we did not text much over the summer.”
And then she threw some shade at Sonja Morgan: “But, wait, rewind…did I hear that right? Her best friend Sonja Morgan texted, Oh Gawd… what, that’s it? Exactly two more words than I texted? Had I known that, I would have texted the thumbs up emoji.”
Carole added, “Another thing, not only did I not hear a peep from my pal Luann when Adam [Kenworthy] and I parted ways over the summer….what did she do instead? She gossiped about Adam to Dorinda [Medley] and it got into the tabloids. Thanks Lu!!! The one place I’d rather not be which is ironic given my current profession. Oh Gawd…” Is she insinuating that Luann is responsible for that tabloid leak or that Luann and Dorinda are behind that?
