There’s no doubt about it: Aviva Drescher will always have a place in Real Housewives of New York history thanks to that infamous leg toss. I will never get over Aviva hurling her prosthetic leg across the room in response to being barely provoked. Other than that, I pretty much forgot she was on this show. Don’t get me wrong, that limb toss was nothing short of iconic, but the show soldiered on with some golden reality TV moments after that.
At this point, it feels like the Real Housewives of New York cast is on point, but even if changes needed to be made, adding Aviva doesn’t make the most sense. She’s not close with anyone on the show and it would just feel vicariously awkward watching her interact with the women at some Skinnygirl event.
Even though no one is asking for this, Aviva told Page Six, “If they needed somebody and I worked in the mix, I would go back.”
Aviva did get one thing right though. She said, “I really think the ‘Housewives’ are some of the strongest women around because they are portraying their real life and they’re getting hammered for it and to have that thick skin. I think it is really admirable.”
Nevertheless, it’s just not going to work. Aviva explained, “Our lives are so different because none of them are really married and none of them have kids. All their kids are grown.” She also said, “I go to bed at 8 p.m., so I’m really boring.” #NotMyRealHousewives. Aviva blessed us all when she threw her leg and I can never thank her enough for that glorious moment, but I don’t need her back on my beloved show.
