Peggy Sulahian Thinks Lydia McLaughlin’s Religious Beliefs Should Be Off Limits; Sad About The RHOC Divorce Announcements

Wait – was Peggy Sulahian actually at the Real Housewives Of Orange County reunion? Because I don’t recall her saying much, aside from a confusing explanation of how coal works atop a grill. In any case, Peggy has a lot to say about what other people said at the reunion, and she breaks it all down in her blog this week!

According to Peggy, Meghan Edmonds needs to back off the attacks on Lydia McLaughlin. She expresses her outrage at Meghan questioning Lydia’s religious beliefs: “There are some topics that are off limits and another person’s faith should be one of them. Why would you dare attack someone’s faith?”

Peggy continues, “Lydia was clear and stated that she does feel uncomfortable around psychics and though she was courteous to Meghan’s friends, I don’t understand why Meghan can say, ‘I think that you should use your brain and not have the Bible tell you what is right and wrong all the time.’ Meghan, the same could be said of you…why do you listen to others (e.g. psychics) and not examine situations by your own means? Why do you need the help of others and heed their advice? People’s faith is a big no-no!”

Turning to more serious matters than Lydia’s hypocritical opinions on drag queens, Peggy describes her reaction to Shannon Beador and Kelly Dodd’s divorce news. But first, here’s Peggy explaining why SHE has the perfect recipe for marriage! <eye roll>

Peggy reflects on her union with Diko: “A marriage of 22 years has multiple ups and downs, difficult days, and stresses that will break you if you don’t work at them. Sure, we have the extravagances of life with all the cars and glamour, but at the end, it’s all about family. Thank goodness that Diko and I have made it so far. We have been blessed with an amazing support system and people who pour out wise advice. Looking back, there were struggles and not every conflict is easily resolved, but I’m thankful for what we have.”

In a moment of more empathy, Peggy comments, “I cannot imagine the pain that Kelly and Shannon are going through presently and I could see the anguish on their faces at losing their life partners. Shannon was quite open with her description about what viewers saw or didn’t see in her relationship with David. Her vulnerability about her tumultuous life and grappling with personal stresses shows me a side of herself that I didn’t know. Nobody wants to experience divorce and split up a family. Nobody wants to cause pain to their loved ones and make them witness the break-up, but it does happen.”

Peggy admits she was shocked to hear about Shannon’s news at the reunion, but was encouraged to see Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge support her. Agreed! She writes in her blog, “I was taken aback by Shannon’s separation but was pleased that she and David would be amicable for the children’s sake. Vicki and Tamra were sound in their advice to Shannon and Kelly, their experiences contained many lessons from which the others can learn.”

Next week, these sad moments are quickly left behind for new drama. Previews show Peggy walking off stage threatening that she’s “done with this show!” Hmm. Peggy teases what’s to come in closing, “Our hearts were left saddened by the news of all this division, but that ain’t nothin’ compared to what’s coming up.”
