Vicki Gunvalson can’t seem to make up her mind – is she over Brooks Ayers or does she hope to win him back? She has technically moved on with another man, Steve Lodge, but her words in the press and in her latest Real Housewives of Orange County blog make it clear that she still loves Brooks.
Vicki starts off by sharing that last year was the worst of her life. “A lot has happened in my life since you last saw me on the couch last season with Andy and hopefully you will be happy with how far I have come in my personal life. I have to say last year was probably the worst year of my life, and I’m glad it’s over and behind me.”
Vicki says she’s found peace, but she’s struggling to earn back the friendships of her castmates. She shared in her blog, “I learned a lot about myself and have finally realized that everything happens for a reason and much of it is a divine intervention. I’m finally at peace with it all, and this season you will see me trying to move on, after asking for forgiveness. Some are willing to do accept it and move on, and some aren’t which I’m actually okay with now. I’m not going to be stuck in the past anymore. It was tough to first see the ladies this 1st episode and to hear about how they felt about me. There is so much that you the viewers and the cast members don’t know which was my personal struggle to make sense of everything.”
Vicki then refers us back to Brooks’ statement in March where he declares that Vicki had no part of any cancer scam. “For those of you who didn’t see Brooks’ last statement with People back in March, this should clear any confusion anyone may have about my involvement. More importantly, towards the bottom of the statement, see what he disclosed which clearly states I was NOT in on any scam. It’s quite disturbing that anyone would ever think that of me: Ayers closes the statement by defending Gunvalson. “Vicki was not ‘in on any cancer scam or created storyline.’ There is no scam,” Ayers says, adding , “Second, Vicki never has paid me to be quiet regarding this ‘supposed’ scam nor has paid me to release any statements.””
In another interview this week, Vicki reveals that still wishes that Brooks hadn’t left. I don’t know what it is about this guy, but she cannot shake him! She shared with Entertainment Tonight, “We have unfinished business. I did not want him to leave me.” She added, “Anybody I’ve been with, I will always love. I always will care for and love Brooks, regardless of what he did and why he did it, I will never know … I know I didn’t lie for him, and I know there’s a lot of questions I’ll never get answered, but I love him.”
On just how much she loved him, “I think my breakup with Brooks was much harder than both my marriages. Isn’t that crazy? … I never was hurt as much as I was with Brooks. So, that was an indication that I was really in love with this man … I will always care for him until I die.”
Vicki then gives Brooks total credit for last season’s high ratings on RHOC! “I felt up against an army that were not willing to move past this relationship with Brooks. Why won’t they let it go? Were they in love with him? Why won’t you let it go? He was my guy!” She continued, “We had the highest ratings [last season] ’cause of Brooks. These women should be happy! They’re back because of Brooks. They should be kissing the ground he walked on.”
The RHOC OG still defends him, saying her co-stars were on a witch hunt to destroy Brooks. (I’m pretty sure they didn’t give him false cancer documents to show off to media outlets).
She maintains that he didn’t deserve the treatment he got. “Nobody deserves that on national TV. I mean, it’s still affecting his career now. [Clients ask],‘Oh, aren’t you the guy from reality Housewives who faked cancer?’”
Vicki does admit that he wasn’t right for her and that if he came back to her, she’d have to turn him down because of Briana. She also says she personally has no ill feelings toward him and still contacts him regularly to see how he is. She just cannot let this guy go!
