Ubah Ali Hassan, also known as Ubax Xasan in Somali and اوبح حسن in Arabic, was born on August 27, 1983. She is a well-known Somali-Canadian model, businesswoman, and TV personality. Hassan has collaborated with famous designers like Ralph Lauren, Gucci, Rachel Roy, and Oscar de la Renta throughout her successful career. She is the founder and CEO of Ubah Hot, a vegan hot sauce brand inspired by African flavors. Hassan also stars in the reality show The Real Housewives of New York City, starting with its fourteenth season. Hassan was born in Somalia and faced challenges early in life due to civil war. In 1991, her mother and three sisters fled to Ethiopia, while Hassan, her father, and her brother stayed in Somalia until 1994, when they moved to Kenya. At the age of 15, Hassan reunited with her family in Canada after a difficult period that included a year living in a homeless shelter. At 17, Hassan was discovered by a photographer in a Canadian park, which launched her modeling career in Vancouver and Toronto.
