Trigger Warning: This article contains discussions of domestic violence.
Vanderpump Rules alum James Kennedy must have been a difficult child. In fact, he often acts like one, with his anger issues and his tantrums.
But now his bad behavior has cost him one of his lucrative DJ gigs. Following his arrest in the wee hours of December 11 on charges of alleged domestic violence, one of his upcoming DJ gigs was canceled.
James was uninvited from his upcoming appearance at the Komodo Lounge in Dallas.
DJ James Kennedy lost a gig after supposedly throwing a woman to the ground
Officers made the arrest early Wednesday morning at the Burbank home James shares with his girlfriend, Ally Lewber. According to the police report, an eyewitness called 911 after the VPR alum allegedly grabbed a woman (assumed to be Ally), “lifted her up and threw her to the ground.” Fortunately, Ally had “no visible injuries,” other than her self-esteem.
According to the U.S. Sun, police are still deciding whether to charge James. He was released later that morning, after posting a $20,000 bail.
Sadly, James has several high-paying gigs coming up over the next few weeks. One has already been canceled, with others sure to follow suit. Ticket holders for the Dallas appearance were notified on December 16 that their orders had been canceled. James has also been removed from the website’s calendar, where he was previously listed as the performer for January 17.
James’ scheduled performance at The Rave/Eagles Club in Milwaukee on Saturday, December 14 apparently went ahead, despite his arrest.
The former SUR busboy has several other dates scheduled before a big New Year’s Eve party in Missouri on December 31. Afterward, he is expected to return to his Las Vegas residency at the Fontainebleau Hotel on January 4.
Two of his exes have called James “abusive”
On the night of his arrest, James and his astrologist girlfriend attended Kathy Hilton’s annual Christmas party at her home. Other guests reported that James’ behavior was abrasive and that he “caused a scene.”
Even Ally seemed to avoid him, as they reportedly spent much of the party apart. One anonymous source claimed James “spent the evening mostly alone, but when he did speak to people, he appeared irritated and rude.”
“James was acting super aggressive all night long,” another partygoer told People. “He was acting so erratic, running back and forth to the bar, and body-checking people along the way.”
The anonymous party guest also claimed that James, who is reportedly sober, “appeared inebriated.”
Despite two of James’ ex-girlfriends, Kristen Doute and Rachel Leviss, describing James’ behavior as “abusive” and “violent,” Ally is supposedly standing by her man.
An insider said, “Ally has been telling friends she’s doing OK. She’s definitely safe and not in danger with James.”
Time will tell. I do hope, for her sake, that she is.
