Welcome to the recap for Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9, Episode 11. Last week, Gizelle and Ashley tried their hand at speed dating. Ashley’s choice, Josh, got a second date, and things are looking promising. After a shot of liquid courage, Wendy told her mom the big news: she resigned. Surprisingly, Susan was Team Wendy. Meanwhile, Mia decided it was now or never and told her kids about wanting a divorce. Gordon was supportive until she pushed for more boundaries. There’s only more drama to come between the two. Here’s exactly what went down in RHOP Season 9, Episode 11: “Secrets of the Love Lagoon.”
What happened in Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9, Episode 11?
It was all about love and friendship this week on RHOP. Gizelle went on a date with Nnamnse, her speed dating choice, and actually had a good time. Wendy surprised the girls with a trip to Panama, but no one could find it on the map. Stacey made it her goal to become besties with Gizelle and wanted to crack the code to her “cuddly” side. Karen’s Love Lagoon party was a hit, even though Mia gave TMI about her and Inc in the bedroom, and Jassi accused her man of misbehaving. It was all’s well that ends well until Jacqueline decided to crash The Grand Dame’s party, leaving us on a cliffhanger till next week.
Gizelle and Karen want Stacey to explore other options besides TJ
Mia had a quick scene with her kids letting us know they are in good spirits after news of the divorce. She took them to an American Ninja Warrior style obstacle course, and let’s just say none of them will be auditioning for the show anytime soon. Her kids were very practical and kept wondering if they were going to end up in a coma by the time they were through. They are wise beyond their years, that’s for sure.
Stacey wanted to get in a little bonding time with the two queen bees, Karen and Gizelle. In particular, she wanted to find Gizelle’s “soft and cuddly” side and become besties. A girl can dream. Stacey told them TJ was flying in from LA so he could go to Karen’s “Love Lagoon” party. Then the grilling began. They wanted Stacey to “take a moment” to figure out what she wanted. But Stacey was quite clear. She said, “I do know what I really like. I really like TJ.”
But Karen and Gizelle weren’t convinced. They were convinced, however, that TJ had a life in LA she didn’t know about. In her confessional, Stacey said, “Why is everybody else so worried about what he’s doing in LA? They need to worry about their men, or lack thereof.” Oop. Karen and Gizelle knew they weren’t getting through, so they decided to jet. The two left Stacey in the dust, with their half-eaten plate of burrata behind them.
Wendy surprises the group with a “liberation celebration” trip to Panama
Wendy’s fortieth birthday might be over, but her 40th chapter has just begun. To celebrate, she surprised the group with a “liberation celebration” trip to Panama. And for those without four degrees, she clarified Panama is located in Central America. Everyone went, “Oooh.” Mia then asked Karen if she could bring Jacqueline to her Love Lagoon party. Karen gave a firm “nope.” Jaqueline scoffed; she didn’t want to go anyway. So, Mia thought things were good … for now.
Keiarna talked about her upcoming Panama trip with Greg and her brother, Brian. She explained it was liberation themed because Gizelle was an empty nester; there were three divorces … record scratch! Greg immediately asked if they got divorced from being on the show. In her confessional, Keiarna broke the fourth wall and said Greg wasn’t thrilled about being on TV, and she didn’t feel supported. She wanted things to be fun and light between them. Why so serious, Greg?
Stacey met up with her Aunt Dora over ginger tea, a key lime tart, and a chocolate éclair. Heaven. Dora thought Stacey needed to get divorced ASAP. She agreed and shared she had a new “best friend.” Dora hoped it was that new hot guy on QVC, and Stacey confirmed. Stacey took a breath and said they were celibate. Dora gave the exact opposite reaction she was expecting. She thought that was commendable. Stacey was relieved; at least she had Dora in her corner!
Nice guys finish last for Gizelle
Gizelle ended up giving Nnamnse a second date. The two met up for some mezcal and salsa dancing. Gizelle said, “He doesn’t really know me that well because he would know, like, I can’t do this.” Before dancing, Gizelle peppered him with more speed dating questions. At first he was on easy street with picking Michael Jordan or LeBron James. Then it quickly went left when she asked if he had ever been to jail. The twist? She kinda wanted him to say yes.
Karen put the finishing touches on her Love Lagoon party. And Ray was more than happy to help with the mermaids. So much so that Karen had to lead him away from the pool. Ashley and Gizelle rode over with Josh and Nnamnse, and Ashley promised to protect Josh from the group. Gizelle laughed that Nnamnse was on his own.
Wendy arrived and noticed the setup looked just like her birthday party. She said, ”I’m not gonna say I inspire the girls. But baby, imitation is the greatest form of flattery.” Karen knows her girl Gizelle well. She immediately said Nnamnse was too nice for her. However, she did approve of Josh and thought he was gorgeous. Then it was time for some fun and games. But would they actually have fun?
Ray spilled the tea about Karen from back in the day
The first game was bound to cause another divorce to add to the liberation celebration trip tally. Everyone had to say if they felt like their partner had cheated or not. Ray said he never cheated, and Karen just smiled when it was her turn. Gizelle said, “You acting like you haven’t cheated on Raymond? No, ma’am. No ma’am.” TJ said the only person he sleeps with is his Bugs Bunny. What a maroon. Jassi aimed to earn her flute next season and called out Darius, who denied all charges. Greg joked about Keiarna, “I’m going to say no because I have her being followed.”
The next question was who was dominant and who was submissive. The group thought Mia for sure was dominant. She agreed she was with Gordon but admitted she let Inc choke her. In her confessional, Gizelle said, “Like, um, Mia of course he has to strangle you; that’s the only way he can hold onto you.” Karen envisioned Inc jumping off “twelve apple boxes” or a trampoline to get to Mia’s neck. Stacey, of course, was horrified. She said, “It is twelve o’clock in the afternoon for goodness sake!”
Ray took the cake, however, when he said that back in the day, Karen “used to tear me up!” Everyone lost it. The group was actually having a good time. That was until Jaws music started to play, and a sweet little senior dog wandered over. Jacqueline suddenly appeared from the bushes holding several heart balloons. A stunned Karen said, “No, ma’am!” To be continued …
