Season 1 of Sold on SLC is one episode in on Bravo. Already, the drama at the Presidio Real Estate Group is present. With only five agents filming for this series, you would think that the storylines might be lacking. But thankfully, the opposite is transpiring.
In Episode One, hot and cold narratives involving the LDS Faith sounded. Likewise, positive LGBTQ narratives and female empowerment storylines arose, which we love to see. However, many backstabbing moments were also present, as this firm might have an alleged agent-poaching realtor in their midst. Likewise, the former and current members of the Mormon Church are trying to coexist, but for some, this is easier said than done.
Jennifer Yeo has her hands full. Thankfully, this CEO has a solid head on her shoulders, but does she have the experience to reign in these agents for an entire season? What are her credentials, and how experienced are her agents? Let us see what they revealed in their Bravo bios, alongside how they each presented in Episode One, to help us flesh out this question.
Jennifer Yeo: Owns the Presidio Real Estate Group featured in Sold on SLC
Jennifer is the CEO of Presidio Real Estate Group, which she opened in 2011. Jennifer is also a fellow competing superagent, pounding the streets for lunches, listings, and additional lucrative opportunities. Luckily for us, Jennifer is also snarky. She is not afraid to speculate out loud over which of her agents might be on her naughty list, as seen in Episode One.
As long as her agents follow the “Jen Commandments” of real estate, they will succeed at her brokerage. Some of these rules involve “though shalt always be selling” and “though shalt always be professional.” Oh, also, “though shalt not steal my agents.”
There are a few others, but you get the point. Already, several agents are ignoring her rules. Since Jennifer “values loyalty and fierce ambition,” this might not end well for certain stars on her team, but it will make for an excellent, watchable season, for us at least.
Thankfully, Jennifer excels in this arena. When she opened her brokerage, she could not afford something as basic as a printer. Last year, she and her team sold 1.2 billion dollars. Therefore, whatever transpires this season via Sold on SLC, Jennifer can (hopefully) handle it.
With over 17 years in this industry and $118,064,582 collected in lifetime sales, Jennifer is that boss (non)b*tch.
Tyna Edwards: Sold on SLC Real Estate Agent
Tyna Edwards is all of us. In the first episode, Tyna cozied up to two different charcuterie platters, feasting while her fellow agents festered. But in many ways, Tyna is also the most courageous agent on this team, as she has broken many chains in her life that once held her back.
Tyna is a self-described “Black, lesbian, single mom, with amazing tits, phenomenal cheekbones, [who is] funny, ambitious, [and] clever.” We are holding space for her humility.
Tyna recently left the Mormon church. Once freed, Tyna came out. She then purchased a gorgeous home in Salt Lake City for herself and her two daughters. As stated in Episode One, Tyna has just invited her partner, BJ, to move from California into this house, as she sees a future here.
Professionally speaking, Tyna has sold $99,000,000 in lifetime sales over her 11 years spent in this industry. She is far from slowing down, as this televised realtor wants to build a strong financial safety net for herself and her children.
Hopefully, Matt Jones steers clear. He is already getting on her last damned nerves, but even still, Tyna professionally showed up at his first Brokers Open (for the cheese and grapes, maybe). And yes, we stan Tyna (for now, as anything can still happen).
Matt Jones: Sold on SLC Real Estate Agent
You cannot speak about Tyna without bringing up Matt. Matt is weary of his headstrong female colleague. Leaving the Mormon Church is something that Matt cannot fathom, so, allegedly, he has started speaking poorly of Tyna, telling random residents of Salt Lake City that she does “not believe in God” and that she also “hates Mormons.”
In the season premiere, Matt denied ever saying these salty statements. Tyna, however, failed to believe him. Matt cares a little about this, but there are other problems at play for this realtor. This economy is breaking his wallet, so he needs to focus on his listings to best support his family.
Matt has already downgraded his car and a few other living expenses, and thankfully, he has one listing underway that will hopefully help to boost his finances. The listing belongs to his brother-in-law, but a sale is a sale, so sell Matt shalt.
Matt has been working in this industry for six years. He has sold $25,300,000 in lifetime sales, but sadly, his quarter-one sales for his year spent filming are sitting at zero. Hopefully, this former top earner can sell his listing quickly.
Malaysia Fua: Sold on SLC Real Estate Agent
Malaysia Fua has an interesting backstory. Malaysia left Presidio Real Estate Group at some undisclosed point. But she quickly realized that the snow is not always whiter on the other side of the mountain, so she boomeranged back to her former employer.
Kenny Sperry is concerned about her loyalties, but Jennifer is more concerned about profits, so Malaysia is here to stay (again, for now).
Malaysia is a member of the LDS church, but she does not abide by all of its institutionalized rules. She drinks and parties like a champion. And if anyone in her church cares about her antics, they should note that Malaysia does not return their concerns. But she will send them her middle finger, as needed.
Malaysia has been working in the real estate industry for two years. At this time, she has already collected $30,040,942 in lifetime sales. Overall, Malaysia is here to make her coins while partying with the big dogs at Presidio. And we welcome her future antics via Sold on SLC.
Sarah Martindale: Sold on SLC Real Estate Agent
Is Sarah Martindale a sneaky link? Jennifer thinks so. Sarah is married to a Broker named Chris, but his firm competes with Presidio, which, yikes. Also, his firm recently hired over a dozen agents from Presidio, so Jennifer suspects that Sarah is an undercover agent, sending her man the brightest talents from Presidio Real Estate Group.
In Episode One, Sarah and Chris sat down with Jennifer. They denied everything. But the tension in their first sit down was heavy, foreshadowing further problems ahead in this series.
As far as her career goes, Sarah is now working with Lisa Barlow, helping this fellow Bravolebrity to either find or build her dream house in Salt Lake City. Lisa has brought a ton of laughs to this series already, so we can only selfishly hope that this house-hunting storyline gets stretched out for as long as humanly possible.
Sarah has been a realtor for six years. She has accrued a total of $28,900,000 in sales, and if she sells Lisa on anything this season, this amount will increase rapidly, as Lisa is rich AF. Hopefully, Jennifer does not fire Sarah before this sale transpires. Insert an ominous “stay tuned” sound here.
Kenny Sperry: Sold on SLC Real Estate Agent
Kenny describes himself as a 12/10 on the LDS faithful members scale. “God plays a massive role” in his career, which he highly needs, as he and his wife are about to welcome their fourth child into this rather expensive world.
Kenny is consistently a top earner at Presidio Real Estate Group. He has been an agent for 12 years. In this timeframe, Kenny has managed to rack up an impressive lifetime sales total of $153,000,000. This large number places Kenny above every agent on this list, including Jennifer.
However, as the brokerage likely receives a cut from all sales collected, Jennifer probably does not care about this outranking amount. Either way, Kenny wants to take home the title of Realtor of the Year at Presidio Real Estate Group. Only time will tell if his dreams can come true via Sold on SLC Season One.
Sold on SLC continues every Wednesday on Bravo at 9/8c.
