Let me be the first to say I was thrilled when I heard that Margaret Josephs of Real Housewives of New Jersey and Dorinda Medley, formerly of Real Housewives of New York, had decided to team up. I was so excited that I even bought tickets for their appearance on the December 2 show in New York at City Winery. But alas, the dream of two Bravo heavy hitters banding together was short-lived, as it has been reported that Dorinda and Margaret are on the outs.
Dorinda Medley and Margaret Josephs are at odds
I hate it when two of my favorite housewives are at one another’s throats. But such is the case with Dorinda, Margaret, and their Blonde Ambition tour. The duo had a handful of successful shows that took place on the East Coast back in early November. But the rest of their appearances have been canceled. The icy standoff started during an appearance on the Jeff Lewis podcast. The bickering could have earned both the ladies an apple. After listening to it myself, I realized that the women were dealing with some unresolved issues.
Jeff asked a simple question about who the ladies had chosen to moderate their show. The duties fell upon Peter Panos, a podcaster and People’s Dave Quinn. The Flipping Out alum then asked who was better at the job. Dorinda shared that both were “great,” but Marge seemed to have stronger opinions. The MacBeth Collection founder quipped, “Dorinda doesn’t love them both,” with an upset Dorinda saying, “Well, thanks for speaking for me.” Dorinda wanted the last word, adding, “Margaret told me she doesn’t love them both. We can play Housewives here.” Yikes, that was super awkward.
Rest in peace, Blonde Ambition
Not only did Dorinda have to deal with an intruder, but she also had to shut down Marge’s pot stirring. The tiff escalated as Margaret accused Dorinda of yelling at the writer during a show due to a lack of engagement. Fans have seen D yell at many people during her time on Bravo, so the story didn’t seem that far-fetched. It became apparent that Dorinda was embarrassed and annoyed with Margaret’s loose lips. The radio segment cut to a commercial break, but the cameras kept rolling. It was at this point that Jeff lost all control of the studio. The RHONY star unleashed on Marge, stating, “Just do me a favor. Don’t speak for me. Don’t speak for me.” Not one to be told what to do, Marge replied, “Well, don’t speak for me. It’s not a big deal.”
But the lady of Bluestone Manor was fuming as she warned Marge. Dorinda reiterated, “I said, ‘Don’t speak for me.’ You said, ‘Dorinda said she doesn’t like him,’ and I responded back to him. You said it first.” The fight then became a tit-for-tat as Marge denied starting the rumble. Dorinda explains. Poor Jeff was brought in as a witness after Dorinda asked, “Did she say, ‘Dorinda likes Peter? She told me she likes Peter better? Just don’t talk.”
Dorinda Medley was said to have carried the show
Even though any subsequent performances of Blonde Ambition have been canceled, fans who did snag a ticket were quick to note that Dorinda seemed to carry the pair through each show. Dorinda was heard talking about her time on RHONY and answering audience questions. While Margaret allegedly sat back and stayed rather quiet. Some audience members went as far as to claim that Marge would only speak up if the questions pertained to information she had dug up.
One fan commented, “I saw them both together answering questions at an event. It was all Dorinda…opinions, cute stories, carrying the show. Marge said nothing. She has nothing to say unless it’s something Marge dug up from the past from social media.” It always seemed like an odd match for Dorinda and Marge to team up. To be honest, I wasn’t even aware they were friends. I would wager that both Bravo stars are not the easiest to work with since each has a demanding demeanor. The fan favorites have been stuck in their ways, which would make a stage show hard to carry on with if neither of them were willing to compromise.
TELL US – DO YOU THINK DORINDA AND MARGARET COULD HAVE MADE THEIR SHOW WORK?
