Why These Below Deck Sailing Yacht Guests Won’t Return for Another Charter

Below Deck Sailing Yacht star Chef Cloyce Martin messed up. So much so that the charter guests on Season 5, Episode 4, will never be seen again. Cloyce might be a wiz in the kitchen, but he lacks time management skills. For some reason, Cloyce thought he should go out and party with the guests instead of prepping for lunch. This caused the guests to become hangry and decide they would never return to sail on Parsifal III.

Cloyce says he’s “infrequently wrong” but did “underestimate” his timing on serving the charter guests lunch on Below Deck Sailing Yacht

While having fun with the guests instead of working wasn’t the best choice Cloyce could have made, it’s unsurprising. The talented young chef made it known off the bat he was extremely confident. The man chopped an onion blindfolded to prove his skills. However, he had one flaw. He couldn’t get his food out in a timely manner.

Cloyce already messed up with these guests the night prior when they had to wait a long time for their bread puddings. But at least they had dinner to hold them over. Now, having lunch late was a serious faux pas. And they were not happy.

One of the guests asked, “OK, ladies, so we’re doing this again next year, yes?” Another guest replied, “Well if they feed us.” The primary’s daughter chimed in as well. She said, “I’m feeling good, but I’m like … ready to eat.” The first guest huffed, “I’m not coming back if we don’t get lunch.”

Then the lunch finally arrived. A guest muttered, “I was about to go to sleep.” Luckily, Cloyce made delicious food, and the guests were happy once again. But this unprofessionalism worried Captain Glenn Shephard.

Glenn told Cloyce, “Keep in mind professionalism. You’re here to give the guests 5-star meals and not play on the water toys.” Cloyce did admit his wrongdoing… somewhat. He said, “I’m infrequently wrong, but I did underestimate my timing. You know, everything’s my fault, which is awesome. I love that.” And timing will be key to Cloyce keeping his job and the guests happy.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht airs Mondays at 9/8c on Bravo.
