Why RHOSLC’s Mary Cosby Shouldn’t Use Facetune

When you’re constantly in front of a camera, I can imagine at times, you might have narcissistic tendencies. No one wants to see their face zoomed in on and have the aging process highlighted. But sometimes Bravo stars go a bit too far. This is the case for the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’s Mary Cosby. The tell-it-like-it-is preacher confused fans with a recent photo that made her look two decades younger.

RHOSLC viewers were not a fan of Mary Cosby’s new look

Mary is a fascinating character with an array of idiosyncracies that keep Bravo viewers glued to the screen. However, a recent social media post caught followers’ eyes, and it wasn’t because of her natural beauty. Mary often has fans laughing, but fans were left scratching their heads at her photo, which shows her shaving off the years. Mary uploaded a confessional look that wasn’t fooling anyone. The pastor wore a black dress and a face that could have been straight from her youth. Needless to say, fans dragged her in the comments. While her costars commented about how great she looked, fans called her out for the horrendous Facetune.

One fan wrote, “What is this mess?” while another added, “Mary, who is this? I’ve never seen this person before.” The fans weren’t far off with their comments, as Mary looked unrecognizable. The 51-year-old stayed mummed as comments kept pouring in. While fillers, Botox, and surgeries are synonymous with Real Housewives, Mary went a bit too far. She isn’t the only snowflake to be called out on her beauty.

Mary Cosby has always been the realest on RHOSLC

Mary is a tough nut to crack, but at times, it doesn’t seem like she is cut out for the world of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. Even though she has made friends with certain costars, at times, she comes across as kind of mean. On more than one occasion, Mary bluntly stated the truth in the least sugar-coated way. Between telling Angie Katsanevas to “Please stop talking to me like that. I don’t like that” and calling Whitney Rose a “little girl,” she hasn’t exactly given the warm fuzzies. But fans like how Mary is unapologetic about who she is.

So it came as a surprise that Mary would alter her facial state all in the name of looking younger—viewers, of course, tune in for the drama that these women stir up. But a lot of fans also enjoy getting to know the genuine person who is on screen, not a tweaked version. Mary, in my opinion, should know better than to alter her photo this drastically. For someone who preaches love in her church and respects fashion, you would think she would want to send a more positive message.

Mary Cosby isn’t alone in her Facetune flops

Mary is not alone in her quest for eternal youth. Teresa Giudice has more Facetune flops than any other Real Housewives star. The RHONJ star has often been in the media for her lousy editing. Most recently, she posted a birthday shoutout to Larsa Pippen. The photo was spliced and diced to put the two women on a fictional beach. Let’s just say it was iconic. Teresa has also posted selfies that make her look more like an AI creation than a mother of four.

Even a former Playboy model, Jeana Keough, has gotten caught up in the need to stay forever young. Her daughter called her out after she posted a photo in which she looked unrecognizable. Even though their photos now look nothing like their faces, perhaps the saddest thing is that viewers love these housewives regardless. But let’s be honest, with all their TV time, you think Mary and others would hire a social media content expert by now because if you’re going to alter a photo, at least do it right.
