As one of three newbies joining RHOSLC Season 5, Bronwyn Newport is already a standout as the show’s biggest fashion girlie so far. While we love Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, it’s not exactly one of the Housewives series we associate with high fashion. No disrespect to Angie Katsanevas’ signature giant sunglasses, of course. But this is the franchise that gave us the worst-dressed Real Housewives reunion ever (Season 2, in case you needed a reminder).
Bronwyn’s striking style was already apparent in the Season 5 trailer. Between giant fluffy coats, funky patterns, feathers, and adorably outrageous accessories, no one can accuse her of playing things safe. Of course, it may rub some people the wrong way – after all, she and Heather Gay are already feuding!
There’s a lot of pressure on the newbies, and RHOSLC Season 5 as a whole, to live up to last season’s Reality Von Tease saga. We don’t know yet how Bronwyn will measure up to Monica Garcia. But she certainly brings the drama with her fashions. Her whole Instagram is worth a scroll, but here are a few of Bronwyn’s most notable recent looks.
Brownwyn Newport is ravishing in red
Bronwyn recently attended the Tony Awards, and made sure to stand out with a suitably theatrical gown on the red carpet! The RHOSLC newbie and her husband, Todd Bradley, produced the revival of Cabaret, which was nominated for many awards. According to Playbill, Bronwyn and Todd are also producing Alexandra Billings’ upcoming autobiographical musical.
Bronwyn’s dramatic red tulle gown was designed by fellow Bravolebrity Christian Siriano. In fact, she wears the Project Runway star’s designs quite a lot. The designer also frequently comments on her Instagram posts. In this case, he left multiple red heart emojis.
Bronwyn had multiple Instagram posts to show off this particular dress. And, naturally, to celebrate her accomplishment as a Broadway producer. A few of her RHOSLC co-stars congratulated her while also gushing over the gown. Angie wrote that she looked “Absolutely beautiful.” Whitney Rose wrote, “Gorgeous as ever. Love this dress!”
Bronwyn would like fries with that
One of the reasons Bronwyn’s style stands out is her vast collection of quirky statement handbags. Including multiple bags that resemble food. In this case, her adorable bag is unmistakably a reference to McDonald’s Happy Meals. She took it a step further by dressing like, as she put it, “Couture Hamburglar.” The polka dot off-the-shoulder maxi dress is already chic on its own. The sunglasses are rivaling Angie’s shades in size, but in a totally unique way. And, yes, not not representative of the Hamburglar.
We’re sure that when noted fast food fan Lisa Barlow saw this outfit, she uttered her signature phrase, “I love that!” Bronwyn is, of course, introduced in the trailer as Lisa’s longtime friend. Baby Gorgeous heavily complimented her co-star, including a shout-out to her taste in clothing. “Bronwyn is everything you could want in a friend,” Lisa gushed. “She’s funny, she’s witty, she’s got the best wardrobe.”
Bronwyn Newport is tres, tres chic
Truly, if you can’t wear a simultaneously elegant and outlandish outfit to the Opera Garnier, where can you? Between the purple color and the dramatic plumage of feathers, this caped gown is like the chic version of Jen Shah’s infamous Season 2 reunion outfit. It is, once again, a Christian Siriano creation. The high slit shows off her toned and tan legs, providing the perfect amount of sexiness. The whole look has an Old Hollywood diva vibe- can’t you picture Liz Taylor wearing this? With this ensemble, she also smartly went for a classic shoe, wearing patent leather pointy-toe pumps. Also, check out her adorable rhinestone French poodle purse, from the legendary designer Judith Lieber.
No matter her outfit, Bronwyn’s sleek bob hairstyle lets the ensemble shine, instead of pulling focus away. I also love her mauve-toned eyeshadow, which matches the dress without being overkill. While Bronwyn is the newest Real Housewife of Salt Lake City, her Instagram shows how much she travels. And matches her outfits for the location and occasion, of course. I wonder if, like Lisa, she has glam everywhere she goes.
Pretty with a purpose
Bronwyn uses her fashion to make a statement. Especially when it comes to causes that she’s passionate about. According to the press release bio for the upcoming RHOSLC Season 5, “Bronwyn is a dedicated liberal political activist, leveraging her influence to champion progressive causes and social justice initiatives.”
This includes Drag Out The Vote, an organization that Bronwyn “passionately supports,” as listed on her website. And what a way to show passionate support for a cause, in this super cute mini dress and matching gloves! Bronwyn’s ensemble was once again designed by Christian Siriano, who she posed with at the event.
Bronwyn’s love of drag comes through in her other fierce fashions and Instagram posts. For instance, she wore this amazing outfit to see Violet Chachki. She even had a drag-themed birthday. It sure seems like Bronwyn would’ve enjoyed last season’s trip to the Trixie Motel! And that she would’ve gladly participated in the drag competition, unlike Lisa, who had an infamous meltdown.
Walk, walk, fashion baby
As a fashion blogger, Bronwyn regularly attends runway shows by major designers at New York Fashion Week. Naturally, this means her Instagram page is full of enviable high-fashion ensembles she wears to attend the events. Not to mention, footage of the jaw-dropping couture creations on the runway.
For the Carolina Herrera show, Bronwyn dressed with a heightened femininity that’s a major part of her signature style. This dress is a dream, between the poppy print, high-low hem, and cape/train detail. It’s quirky without being too twee. Bronwyn pairing this with a veil reminds me of something the uber-fashionable Villanelle would wear on Killing Eve.
In addition to attending Fashion Week in style, Bronwyn loves to share videos of her strutting her stuff in New York. With her wardrobe, who wouldn’t take some glamorous slow-mo videos as a way to catalog outfits? And with certain looks, you can’t completely appreciate the beauty without seeing the ensemble in motion.
Stunning in Schiaparelli
A little black dress is a fashion mainstay for a reason. Naturally, Bronwyn, who always goes over the top, had to wear one that was a little extra! Not just because this Schiaparelli dress has the coolest intricate details. Bronwyn also managed to pose in front of the Salvador Dali sketch that inspired the original design.
Even if her style isn’t to one’s taste, it can’t be denied that Bronwyn knows her stuff. Schiaparelli is one of the hottest brands of the moment, and the surrealist label has long been influential in fashion history. The modern version, designed by Daniel Roseberry, boasts celebrity fans like Zendaya and Margot Robbie.
Schiaparelli also has roots in reality TV as of late. Daniel himself appeared on The Kardashians, where he designed Kim Kardashian’s Met Gala look. Her sister, Kylie Jenner, is also a big fan. And, speaking of the Real Housewives franchise, Dorit Kemsley recently wore a red dress by the brand to a reunion. Now that she’s an official Housewife, we can’t wait to see what looks Bronwyn pulls off in her confessionals and at the reunion.
