As the CEO of Loverboy, Kyle Cooke is setting the record straight after Hannah Berner accused him of getting her fired from Summer House for sponsoring a competitor.
According to Hannah, she got canned from Summer House for doing sponsored content with Truly Hard Seltzers, which bruised Kyle’s ego. She insinuated that she learned a hard lesson that you can’t be on Summer House and drink anything besides Loverboy.
When we first heard that accusation, we thought it sounded fishy. Now, Kyle is clapping back with more details, Just like we assumed, there’s much more to the story.
Kyle says he’s innocent
When Hannah first left Summer House, she talked about how it was an important decision for her career. She said she wanted to shift her focus to stand-up comedy. Hannah also said she wanted to leave reality TV to protect her relationship with Des Bishop. Ironically, she started telling this new story about getting fired from Bravo while trying to promote her first Netflix comedy special. Which story is true? According to Kyle, not the most recent one.
In an interview with Page Six, Kyle claimed that he had nothing to do with Hannah’s exit. According to him, this whole saga has been “upsetting” because of how untrue it is.
“I have nothing to do with casting,” Kyle told the outlet.
“I’m flattered anyone thinks I could have that kind of pull,” he continued, “but clearly, I don’t have any control over what Bravo does.”
Kyle thinks Hannah’s claims are bad for business
Of course, we all saw Hannah fall out with Kyle and Amanda Batula during Season 5 of Summer House. Kyle admitted that drama impacted her standing with the rest of the cast, but they were open to filming with her if Bravo asked her to return. He said no one was thinking about her sponsored content with Truly.
In Kyle’s opinion, Hannah’s recent comments about Loverboy causing her Summer House exit have been “disparaging” for his business, which we know has already seen its fair share of struggles. Kyle said he felt like it was important to set the record straight to avoid further confusion down the line.
“My issues with Hannah had nothing to do with beverages or egos or screen time — they had to do with how she was treating Amanda,” Kyle explained.
A source close to production also sided with Kyle. They said that Hannah’s claims about getting fired were “ridiculous” and “untrue.” So, at this point, it’s unclear where Hannah came up with this story about her Summer House exit, but it’s starting to seem more and more like a fairytale.
