Real Housewives of Orange County star Heather Dubrow is back on our screens with Season 18! And things are a bit “more balanced” for her this time around. Heather’s friendships are going strong and she is no longer isolated from the group. At least that’s how it seems based on the first episode and a sneak peek of the rest of the season. Unfortunately, the person being singled out this time may be “there’s the door, Shannon Beador.” Still, Heather teases this season will be one for the ages.
Heather says RHOC is “pretty epic” this season
Last season it seemed like Heather was alone on an island with no allies. No matter what she did, it was nitpicked and analyzed. Emily Simpson and Tamra Judge continually told her how condescending she was when she spoke to others. Don’t they understand that’s Heather’s vibe? Her nickname is Fancy Pants for a reason.
Heather and Tamra’s friendship also hit an all-time low. Tamra had returned to the show and bulldozed her way to the top of the friend group by knocking Heather down a notch. She had accused Heather of gossiping about Shannon and John Janssen’s relationship. And let’s not forget the funniest accusation, that Heather called the paparazzi on herself at Disneyland. Basically, Heather couldn’t catch a break.
But now things are moving in the right direction. Heather interviewed with the Hollywood Reporter and spilled the tea on her feelings regarding this season and the state of her friendships. She said, “Last season was a disaster for me. That was really difficult.” That’s putting it mildly, to say the least.
Heather noted that she needed to take some time to reflect on who was her friend in the group. She shared, “Personally, I have to say, after the reunion last year, I had to take some time and figure out where I stand with everyone, what my relationships are, and how I’m going to move forward with after that tumultuous year for me.” Time for the old forgive and forget.
Now that Heather has her “groove” back, she’s excited for the new season. She said, “This season, it’s pretty epic. It really feels like one of those seasons from what people consider the glory days of the show.” And this season does look fantastic with all of the trips and drama. The cast is giving!
Best of all, Heather is happier with the show and her friends this go around. She stated, “But I’m happy to say it felt more balanced this year, and I think I got to really figure out who my true friends are.” And we are excited to see it all unfold.
Real Housewives of Orange County airs Thursdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
