The UCLA graduate has always been a perfect sidekick to her mother on the Real Housewives of Orange County. Fans first met Kara Keough when she was a sullen teenager defending herself against her mean older brother. Kara was athletic and the typical girl who liked to shop in Hollister and surf. The former blonde now turned brunette, was spunky and a bit of a tomboy.
While her two brothers were sometimes out of hand and rude, Kara came off as sweet and kind. For the most part, viewers gravitated toward her personality as she was a grounding force. What fans loved about the middle child was her ability to be extra sensitive, especially with her mother, Jeana Keough. Even though she grew up privileged and given the gift of beauty, Kara didn’t like the idea of pretending to be something you aren’t. Kara isn’t messing around and is making sure her mother knows how beautiful she is naturally without any unnecessary enhancements.
Kara hates Jeana Keough’s filters
Cut to this morning when I learned that Kara had actually trolled her mother. When viewers first met Jeana, they quickly learned that she had once been a famed Playboy Bunny and a model. GenX knows Jeana from ZZ Top videos and being a muse for artist Patrick Nagel. The mother of three had always taken her looks seriously, but thanks to a toxic marriage, she was beaten down about her face and weight. In numerous early episodes, Jeana was filmed out of place as she tried to fit in with the other blonde Barbies. But she always seemed to have a good shoulder on her head.
Sadly, in these times, it is so common to see a filtered picture and think that you are looking at the real thing. Luckily, Kara was on troll patrol. On Tuesday, July 2, Jeana posted a photo with her friend writing, “Chip McCalister Amazing Race first season. And realtor 10 years now. I remember when he first started. So proud of him!”
Kara claps back
The 68-year-old looked as if she had a little work done, but no one really had the guts to call her out—until her daughter stepped up to the plate. Jeana and Chip’s skin was silky smooth with no laugh lines. Their face was noticeably slimmer, and their eye color had been unchanged. In the comments, Kara stoutly wrote, “Take this down, now.” After a quick switchover from Jeana, the original photos were added back, and Kara wrote, “That’s my girl.”
RHOC fans slept on Jeana Keough
Jeana is the real OG of the OC. The show was only created because Scott Dunlop lived basically next door to her and was intrigued by her lifestyle and her children. I would have been interested, too, if I had seen Colton Keough driving a golf cart underage. Even with a faulty filter, we have to put some respect for Jeana’s name. The realtor was an original cast member of the series and starred in it for the first five seasons.
Jeana left the Real Housewives of Orange County back in 2011 at the end of Season 6 after a major disagreement with Tamra Judge and Vicki Gunvalson. Her last season showed her taking the side of Simon Barney in his and Tamra’s messy divorce. Tammy Sue was so annoyed with Jeana that she threw a glass of wine in her face. Even after she was thoroughly drenched, Jeana came back as a guest for seasons 7, 10, 11, 12, and 16. A little-known fact is that Jeana actually narrated Season 15.
A Daughter’s love
As for Kara, she has kept a low profile with the exclusion of trolling her mother. The 35-year-old is a mother to four littles and often posts updates about them on her social media. Sadly, Kara lost her son McCoy shortly after his birth due to experiencing shoulder dystocia and a compressed umbilical cord in 2020.
But she has shared her healing journey every step of the way. Jeana is pretty lucky to have a daughter who cares so much about her she would call her out on a social media platform. But I wonder if Jeana hasn’t asked that she call her out privately next time. At least to save her from secondhand embarrassment.
