Cheryl Burke Predicts Tom Sandoval for Dancing with the Stars

It is time for everyone to start guessing about who will be part of Season 33 of Dancing with the Stars. Of course, we won’t officially find out until the fall, but speculation is already running wild. Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix wowed on Season 32 of DWTS. She ended up coming in third, but that wasn’t the end of her time dancing. And she was the first Pump Rules cast member to compete on the show. Poor Scheana Shay dreamed of appearing on the show and instead rooted for her good friend, Ariana.

Former DWTS pro Cheryl Burke knows all the ins and outs of the ballroom. After all, she was part of the show for 26 seasons. And she is naming a somewhat controversial choice as a contestant for the new season. Is it time for Tom Sandoval to tango into the ballroom?

Will we see Sandoval do the samba?

During a recent episode of Cheryl’s podcast, Sex, Lies, and Spray Tans, she discussed upcoming casting for Season 33. Kristyn Burtt, who has the inside scoop on DWTS, also weighed in.

Cheryl revealed that the casting directors used for the show The Traitors also cast for DWTS. That blows my mind! “Don’t be shocked if you see some similar names – Tom Sandoval,” Cheryl said. She thinks that since he is skulking around a Scottish castle for Season 3 of The Traitors, he has a great shot of being asked to shake his groove thing.

But Kristyn didn’t agree. “I think he’s perfect for Traitors because he’s been a villain on Vanderpump Rules for so long,” she explained. “But I feel like after Ariana [Madix] just did this particular season. We’ve moved on.”

It turns out that Scheana isn’t the only VPR star who wanted to slip on their dancing shoes. During an episode of Pump Rules, Sandoval shared his DWTS FOMO. “I actually took ballroom lessons and everything,” he admitted. I can only imagine how satisfying it was for Ariana to be asked to join DWTS, slaying the ballroom, and then heading to Broadway as Roxie Hart in Chicago. She was so successful that she is reprising the role for a run this summer.

I’m not sure if Sandoval did join the show how long he would last. It seems like the Scandoval backlash is still there. I’m more interested in watching him compete on The Traitors.

Season 33 of Dancing with the Stars will return this fall on ABC, Disney+, and Hulu.

TELL US – DO YOU THINK THAT SANDOVAL WILL BE ASKED TO COMPETE ON DWTS? WOULD YOU RATHER SEE SCHEANA SHAY COMPETE?
