Chic C’est La Vie. But it shouldn’t be boring. Millionaire Matchmaker star Patti Stanger reveals the feedback she got from Luann de Lesseps after the latter tested the dating pool with Olivier Sarkozy.
Who would have guessed that The Real Housewives of New York alum would pursue a Frenchman? But despite being her type, in theory, the half-brother of former French president Nicolas Sarkozy didn’t make an impact on the vivacious Luann. Patti explained why during a recent interview to promote a new reality dating show.
Patti was initially “excited” about the potential match
The former Bravolebrity exclusively told Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea podcast what she saw as the problem between Luann and Olivier.
“It didn’t work. He didn’t want to do anything. He’s like, ‘I like to stay home, I don’t want to go anywhere,’” the renowned matchmaker said during the interview.
The French banker was married to Mary-Kate Olsen between 2015 and 2020. According to Patti, Olivier’s social habits were a turn-off to the RHONY alum. He also didn’t quite seem to be over the fashion mogul.
“Luann is the life of the party. There’s no way,” the reality TV star explained while promoting a new series on the CW called The Matchmaker. “She’s like, ‘He was so boring.’’
The comments come a month after Luann and Olivier spent two hours together on a lunch date at Le Bilboquet. According to photographs taken, the duo left the Manhattan eatery arm-in-arm.
Patti revealed that she was “excited” about a potential match between the duo, who connected on Raya. However, the feedback was less than encouraging.

“Listen, when somebody is negative about their marriage or their relationships and all they want to do is hibernate, they’re not healthy yet,” she explained of Olivier’s supposed unresolved feelings towards his ex-wife.
“That doesn’t mean they can’t be healthy, [but] I think he was depressed, from what it sounded like. I mean, I wasn’t there. But I think he was depressed,” Patti added.
The professional matchmaker gave her thoughts about the breakup with Mary-Kate, and why he could still be getting over it.
“He came off one of the most famous, beautiful women in the world. She was gorgeous and she’s rich,” Patti said. “That was not a broke chick, OK? She didn’t need his money.”
As for Luann, Patti suggested changing up the type of men she pursues.
“I was like, ‘Stay away from — nothing against the French, but you had a lot of French men,’” she advised.
“Maybe we try the Italians this time or a Greek or something, you know?” the former Bravolebrity joked.
Luann was notably married to French entrepreneur, Alexandre de Lesseps, for nearly two decades. Her subsequent romance with Jacques Azoulay was captured on RHONY.
