Crystal Kung Minkoff could have very nearly had her possessions taken from her, if not an even worse fate. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum’s home was invaded while she was on vacation in Japan.
Not to give Crystal a big head, but if reports around her business are true, it’s no wonder folks would want to break into her house. She valued her coconut water company at over $100 million.
With a business doing that well, one would assume her house is full of valuables. Of course, this isn’t to victim blame. Only to say that Crystal knew to be prepared. But not everything went as she would’ve hoped.
Crystal’s friends were in her house during the attempted robbery
During a recent appearance on Jeff Lewis’ SiriusXM show, Crystal detailed how her home was broken into during her time away in Japan. Not only that, but the intruders came face to face with her acquaintances. “They tried to break in and my housesitters, my friends, had to deal with it face to face,” Crystal said, assuring that her friends were okay.
Crystal inferred that, since she posted about her vacation, the intruders would’ve suspected the house was empty. “I actually have a lot more security that they weren’t using,” Crystal shared. “It’s because they’re guests. They’re just like, you don’t think it’s going to happen, especially ’cause you’re at home.”
She didn’t share all the details of how the criminals got onto the property but confirmed they hopped the gate. Of her friends, Crystal further shared, “They were freaked out. I felt so bad.” Ultimately, Crystal’s takeaway was that she and her husband would have to take their security to the next level. “It just reminded me that we need to step it up even more.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is streaming on Peacock.
