Despite Ariana Madix’s many triumphs over the last year, Scandoval’s shadow still looms over her. As Vanderpump Rules viewers know, the show’s tenth season exploded over the cheating Scandal between Tom Sandoval and Rachel Leviss.
VPR Season 11 has been a bit of a letdown for many viewers with a perceived redemption arc for Tom – a redemption that feels unearned. To that point, part of that attempt at redemption would appear to involve tearing down Ariana.
Ariana might not always be a saint, sure. But to suggest that she’s the villain between her and Sandoval? Ridiculous. Her life was completely uprooted, and as Season 11 goes on, it’s clear she’s still coming to terms with that.
Ariana calls her anger toward Tom “not healthy”
In a recent preview Bravo released for the upcoming VPR episode, Ariana discussed her woes regarding her home and Tom. “I know that the amount of anger I feel for him, I understand it’s not healthy,” she told Scheana Shay and Lala Kent. Scheana expressed her hopes for a calm dialogue between the two. Ariana countered with, “He’s never gonna say he f*cked up.”
Ariana explained her ongoing anger, expressing how much Tom knew about her, disregarding all of it. Lala sympathized, reminding her that there were no guarantees in life. “Yeah, that was your dream house,” Scheana agreed. “He f*cking wrecked that house. And now, let’s just get you out.” Ariana cried and told Scheana she was right.
Scheana apologized but Ariana said, “No, you’re right. It just sucks ‘cause it’s like, I put so much of my life and my money and my time into, like, making this like my dream home. And it was my dream home.” Ariana expressed disappointment in Tom, saying “Not only did he wreck it,” but he continued to act as though he was “deserving” of staying in the home.
“I never did anything to him,” Ariana iterated. In a confessional, Ariana added, “I keep my armor up because this sh*t is f*cking traumatic.” Ariana expressed her desire to process things “without making it everybody else’s problem,” but found it difficult to do so with Tom “openly talking sh*t because the guy has no remorse.”
