Previews ahead of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 13 reunion showed Sutton Stracke suffering from a concerning medical event. We got a glimpse of it in the sneak peek for the concluding segment. Part 3 airs March 13, and we’ll likely see the whole thing play out.
Sutton decided to take her own advice and “NAME ‘EM” (her reunion medical issues, that is). And no, it wasn’t Kathy Hilton’s surprise guest appearance that caused Sutton to take ill.
Sutton’s body “just shut down” at reunion, leading to a hospital visit
Sutton spoke to PEOPLE about the scary incident and asserted that her health scare wasn’t triggered by any of her castmates. She just began feeling off halfway through the day.
“I was starting to not feel well midway through the reunion, and I kept asking Garcelle [Beauvais], ‘Is it hot in here?’ And it was freezing in that space. She was like, ‘No, it’s not.’ And I kept asking and asking, asking, and she was like, ‘It’s not. Are you feeling okay?’ And I was getting kind of quiet and withdrawn,” she recounted.
Sutton explained it was her intense schedule leading up to the January 26 taping, involving frequent travel between NYC and LA that had finally taken a toll.
“I was burning the proverbial candle at both ends and the wick had run out, and my body just shut down. It was really scary,” she explained.
Sutton was disappointed that she had to exit the reunion.
“You think I want that to happen during the reunion? I had more things to say; I was not done yet. I had some fight left in me that just couldn’t … My body collapsed. There was nothing I could do about it. It was wild,” she said.
Sutton said her blood pressure also “soared up.” After paramedics on the reunion set assessed the situation, she went to the ER. Luckily, she wasn’t alone. “I was in the emergency room, I don’t know, four hours, and Garcelle stayed the whole time because we are real friends. She’s one of my best friends.”
Sutton recuperated after a bout of exhaustion, dehydration, and bronchitis
Sutton revealed that doctors diagnosed her with exhaustion, dehydration, and a severe case of bronchitis.
She shared, “…after a chest X-ray and blood work, they said, ‘You have suffered from exhaustion,’ which sounds stupid, but it’s a real thing, ‘and dehydration.’ And on top of it, I saw my doctor two days later — a severe case of bronchitis. So, I couldn’t win. Between those three things, it was the trifecta of sickness, so I had to stay in bed for about 10 days.”
After taking time off to rest, Sutton’s back to doing Sutton stuff, which I’d assume is counting her money and riding her horse.
Sutton also headed off any esophageal speculation, declaring, “My esophagus is fine.” Welp, Annemarie Wiley has left the chat.
Part 3 of the RHOBH reunion airs Wednesday, March 13 at 8/7c on Bravo, streaming next day on Peacock.
