Season 13 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has been Crystal Kung Minkoff’s season. While she was quiet in earlier seasons, during Season 13, Crystal came to play. And Erika Jayne was loving the new Crystal.
Crystal told Sutton Stracke that Dorit Kemsley and Kyle Richards were discussing Sutton’s drinking habits. Newbie Annemarie Wiley pestered Sutton about her narrow esophagus and alleged that Sutton had an eating disorder. That brought Crystal to her breaking point. Plus, Annemarie allegedly told Crystal that she was a physician, not a nurse, before filming began. At a gala, Crystal finally spoke up. “You’re such a bitch!” Crystal yelled at Annemarie. Well, she made her point.
And Crystal clapped back at Dorit when Dorit called her “a child bride.” Crystal shaded Dorit’s marriage and even her broken domain name for Beverly Beach. And how many regrets did Crystal have? Zero!
Erika would like to see more of Crystal’s fun-loving side
Erika weighed in on Crystal’s new-found voice on RHOBH. “I would like to see more of the Crystal that I know off-camera, on-camera because she is a lot of fun. She has a lot of things to say,” Erika told Deadline.
“I wish that she would throw away how she’s being perceived. You have to, at some point, let that go because it will inhibit who you are, and we’re there to give our opinion and be ourselves.”
The singer thinks that Crystal has made a great deal of progress. “Not everything is flattering, and sometimes you’re going to be the only person that has your own view of things. But you have to be comfortable being in that space,” she continued.
“You can check a lot of boxes: you can have the house, you can have the clothes, you can have the husband, you can have all of these things … But if you don’t know who you are inside and be willing to stand on that, that doesn’t translate, and that’s not a good housewife,” Erika added.
Let’s hope that Crystal continues to relish in speaking her truth. And in being shady.
