It’s always rather ominous when a Below Deck season starts with the promise of cast being fired. Captain Kerry Titheradge already spilled the beans that the full original crew would not make it to the end of the season together.
The speculation game begins right away to guess who will be the one to go. And the way things are going with bosun Jared Woodin, odds are stacking against him making it to the final charter.
The provisioner suggested Jared be “more professional”
In the most recent episode, Jared hit a roadblock with a provisioner when he couldn’t get the blue and white deck towels he wanted. He was told it was a “tough” request, given their location on Grenada.
The bosun was feeling tense since he wasn’t able to speak to his daughter the previous night. So when he called the provisioner about the “state” of his request, and was declined, Jared became “frazzled.”
“We cannot get towels on the island [Grenada] very easily. Especially the model that you are asking for and in a specific color,” she said.
“I just need towels. There have to be towels on this island. White or blue,” Jared retorted.
“Listen, if you are a little bit more professional and cordial in your tone, I think it will go across better,” the provisioner responded. “Because I feel like we’re having a little fight on the phone here. I’m here to help you.”
Jared was quick to apologize, but his unprofessional manner was noted by deckhand Ben Willoughby and Captain Kerry.
She then proposed “regular-sized bath towels,” which Jared declined.
Later, in a confessional, Ben labeled his boss a “f-king d-khead.”
Further, the situation does not improve in the March 11 episode. A sneak peek indicated that Captain Kerry has major concerns about Jared’s mental state, to the point that he may get fired from the boat.
