When Don’t Be Tardy spun off from The Real Housewives of Atlanta in 2012, we saw Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann marry and begin their lives together. Kroy lovingly adopted Kim’s two daughters, thereafter, Ariana and Brielle Biermann. The new family unit gave us innocent, kooky dysfunction; like when Brielle wore a fake baby belly to match Kim, or that time Kim got a butt cupping treatment on full-out public display. Life was good. Kim and Kroy appeared wildly in love, and their family and shenanigans rapidly grew.
Then, record scraaaatch. Kim and Kroy’s marriage and finances blew up last year in grand fashion. Since, they’ve constantly battled while still sharing their Milton, GA home out of financial desperation. Often, the arguments end up on police body cams. Despite it all, at least Kroy seems to have remained a father figure for Brielle and Ariana.
Earlier this week, Brielle announced her engagement to minor league baseballer, Billy Seidl. She also just revealed that Billy took the traditional route and first reached out to her dad, Kroy.
Brielle revealed in her Instagram Stories that Billy asked Kroy for his blessing before he proposed
Brielle, 27, posted videos in her Instagram Stories on Wednesday to answer fans’ questions about her recent engagement to Billy, 24.
One fan questioned if she saw the proposal coming. Brielle answered that she “was not expecting the proposal at all.”
Brielle continued, “We’re together 24/7. I was like, ‘There’s no way this guy’s gonna be able to get a ring without me knowing. How’s he gonna ask Kroy?'” She then confirmed, “Yes, he asked Kroy. He actually asked Kroy a while ago.”
Brielle implied that the tempestuous divorce drama between Kroy and Kim influenced her decision to keep her relationship with Billy private until announcing their engagement.
“All of my relationships have been really public and given, you know, everything that’s going on right now, I just decided I wanted to be a little more private with things that were important to me. I get criticized on every single thing I do 24/7 and I didn’t want any criticism on this. I didn’t want anybody to affect what we had going on,” explained Brielle.
She then recounted their initial meeting in the Bahamas over a year ago, leading to them living together for a bit before getting engaged.
During the Q&A, Billy also shyly appeared, revealing he chose Brielle’s engagement ring through email so he could keep her in the dark.
Brielle didn’t say if Billy just texted Kroy or chose to venture up to his court-ordered territory (the primary bedroom suite of Milton’s Monument to Humanity’s Messiest Marriage) to request Brielle’s hand. Either way, hopefully Kroy giving marriage or money advice wasn’t part of the conversation.
