Vanderpump Rules Season 11 is only a few episodes in, but it’s one for the books. Not just because the cast had to navigate the new dynamic within their group with the break up of Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix, but simply from the timing of it all.
The cast had had their final say to Rachel Leviss at the Season 10 reunion, months prior. The former VPR alum did not return to deal with her part of the fallout. So there’s been a lot of filling in the gaps, especially with Sandoval’s constant deflection.
And Katie Maloney is one that finds the entire dynamic a challenge.
The cast was “just coming off” filming the reunion
Extra’s Melvin Roberts caught up with Katie at the People’s Choice Awards. The Something About Her co-owner reacted to the constant “tricking in” of new information that the cast had to react to in a short amount of time.
“It was the most awkward, frustrating season I have ever been part of because just coming off of the reunion, it was just a few months later,” Katie explained.
The Vanderpump Rules original star has been more steadfast than others in keeping at Sandoval at arms length. Katie’s ex-husband, Tom Schwartz, has been working overtime to explain away all of Sandoval’s deflections and get him back into the group.
“A lot of information was tricking in over that period of time … I am someone that leads with integrity and, really, my values and kind of moral code that I have, that’s where I was coming from,” she added.
Certainly, Katie was also dealing with her own personal issues in Season 10. She was fresh off her divorce from Schwartz and trying to have him respect her boundaries.
“It was a different time in my life regarding my ex and doing what I wanted to do regardless of how felt about things. I just want to have a good time, and I did, truly,” she stated.
