It’s the medical discussion that never should have happened. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills newbie Annemarie Wiley questioned Sutton Stracke’s small esophagus diagnosis. She also suggested that the boutique store owner could be suffering from an eating disorder.
None of Annemarie’s comments were warranted or medically sound, given that limited information in a passing conversation isn’t a valid means to diagnose. And The Real Housewives of Miami star Dr. Nicole Martin has already spoken out in defense of Sutton. Now, it’s another Bravolebrity’s turn.
Terry thinks Annemarie “learned a little bit of a lesson” when discussing Sutton’s esophagus
Botched star, and The Real Housewives of Orange County husband, Dr. Terry Dubrow, suggested that the nurse anesthesiologist’s statement put her in a vulnerable position.
“It’s tough because when a person has a medical condition and you’re not their provider, you’re only getting incomplete information,” Dr. Terry told E! News. “So, it puts you in a potentially precarious situation to start making opinions based on the little bit of information you may or may not have.”
The famed plastic surgeon thinks it was a foolish battle for Annemarie to take on. But, given that it was her freshman season, one can expect errors in judgement.
“I think if you were to ask Annemarie now if she could go back in time, whether she’d opine in the same way she did previously, I doubt it,” Terry added. “I think she probably learned a little bit of a lesson from that. But, she’s a first-season Housewife and those are very difficult waters to navigate. It takes a few seasons to figure out how to get along with everybody under those pressure situations.”
Sutton and Annemarie have buried issue for now, but one can bet that the esophagus issue will be revisited. Heather Dubrow’s husband anticipates a lot of issue for those comments.
“I’m looking forward to seeing what happens at the reunion,” Terry concluded. “Because I’m sure that was adjudicated very strongly. But it’s tough. When you put yourself in a situation as a medical provider making opinions with impartial information, it can get you in trouble.”
