Andy Cohen’s Shady Response To Fan Asking for New Housewives Franchise

Andy Cohen is the ringmaster of an entire circus of dramatic, petty, shady individuals, so it should come as no surprise that he sometimes takes a walk on the shady side himself. Just ask former NYC mayor Bill de Blasio or Ryan Seacrest about Andy’s uncomfortably crusty New Year’s Eve rants.

The latest instance of “Andy’s not here for it” was featured on a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live. This time, he awkwardly dismissed a fan’s playful suggestion of a new city for a Real Housewives franchise.

Andy shot down a fan’s suggestion of “The Real Housewives of Grand Rapids”

On Sunday, January 28, Andy had an uncomfortable exchange during a WWHL fan Q&A segment. A fan named Meredith from Grand Rapids, Michigan video-called in to the Clubhouse to pose a question to Married to Medicine star, Lateasha Lunceford.

Before asking Lateasha her question, Meredith enthusiastically expressed her admiration for Andy. “Andy, you are my absolute idol,” she said.

Then, Meredith decided to shoot her shot. “Hear me out, Real Housewives of Grand Rapids — RHOGR. It sounds pretty good. Call me.”

Andy quickly responded with a deadpan, “We’re good,” clearly shutting down the suggestion. Uncomfortable laughter ensued.

However, his attention was then drawn to the small bit of Meredith’s stylish home visible behind her. Or, maybe he was feeling a little guilty about his response and trying to recover. He asked, “By the way, your house looks beautiful! Is that your house or a fake background?”

Upon learning it was her real home, Andy seemed to perk up a little and (probably jokingly) reconsider his initial dismissal, saying, “Wow. OK. Well, maybe I’ll think about it.”

I’m going to out on a limb here, but it’s doubtful that Grand Rapids would ever be on Bravo execs’ shortlist of potential cities. And before we even think about new franchises, can we fix some of the current ones first? Asking for The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

TELL US – WAS ANDY TOO SHADY TO THE WWHL CALLER? ARE THERE ANY CITIES YOU THINK SHOULD HAVE A REAL HOUSEWIVES FRANCHISE?
