Tom Sandoval took a lot of crap during the last few episodes of Vanderpump Rules Season 10. After letting it slip that he’d been sleeping with his girlfriend’s best friend for seven months, Tom caused complete mayhem in the Bravosphere. Not only was he trashed online for his behavior, but his restaurant with Tom Schwartz was impacted, too. They were slammed with negative reviews.
“In light of the recent news, we appreciate the many words of support, but we also understand the outpouring of outrage that has been directed towards our businesses,” the Schwartz and Sandy’s social media account posted. “However, those of us who are not famous have dedicated our time, hearts, and money to make this restaurant a reality.”
Things look much better for the eatery owners today. However, Tom is still very much in the hot seat for his deplorable actions. During a recent interview with Us Weekly, Lisa Vanderpump addressed Tom’s “complicated” situation.
Lisa (unsurprisingly) comes to Tom’s defense
Tom and Tom becoming business owners has always been a major storyline on Pump Rules. Season 11 will be no different. “We talk a lot about [Tom’s involvement in Tom Tom],” Lisa revealed.
“There’s a lot of backlash, and I don’t [quite] think the punishment fits the crime when it’s the whole world against you,” she explained. “I think it was a lot for him to deal with. So, I was there to try and facilitate some kind of cohesion.”
Coming to the serial cheater’s defense isn’t the first time Lisa has enabled toxic behavior. She’s done it with Stassi Schroeder, Jax Taylor, James Kennedy, and, of course, Tom at the Season 10 reunion.
We still have a little more time before the new collection of episodes begins to air, but if Lisa excuses any poor behavior this year, she should expect fans to hold her feet to the fire as well.
