Reason for Bryan Abasolo Filing for Divorce From Rachel Lindsay Revealed

I have to admit my heart broke a little when Bryan Abasolo filed for divorce on January 2 from his Bachelorette wife, Rachel Lindsay. Even though they’d already admitted to “living very different lives,” their split came as something of a shock. In Bachelor Nation, what Mike Fleiss hath put together should not be put asunder. Except sometimes it is.

Now the news is coming out that the couple just had different visions of their life together. “They had different ideas of what their future should look like,” an insider told Radar Online. “Bryan’s practice was in Miami, and that’s where he wanted to be. But Rachel wouldn’t be pinned down, and she was constantly uprooting them.”

Since marrying in August 2019, the couple has lived in Dallas, Miami, and Los Angeles. Per Bachelor alum Ashley Iaconetti Haibon they’ve even occasionally lived in separate states. Now rumor has it that Rachel’s set her eyes on New York City and a job co-hosting ABC’s The View. Sadly, Bryan’s had enough.

They just don’t want the same things

The couple met on Season 13 of The Bachelorette when Rachel was the first-ever Black lead on the show. The Dallas-based attorney fell in love with the Miami chiropractor, and they became engaged on the season finale. Everyone expected them to settle in Florida and live happily ever after. But in the end, “they realized they weren’t a good match,” the source says.

“Bryan got frustrated with Rachel’s flightiness and unwillingness to commit to one place and start a family,” the insider added. “One minute she’d say she wanted to try for a baby, then she’d be on a flight out of town. Bryan got sick of it.”

Though the couple is still in the process of dividing their assets, Bryan is requesting spousal support and attorney fees. Court documents listed the couple’s date of separation as December 31, 2023.

Let’s hope new Bachelor lead Joey Graziadei fares better with his matches, when Season 28 premieres on ABC on January 22.
