Tom Girardi is not a happy camper today. Yes, Erika Jayne’s shamed husband isn’t getting out of anything and we love to see it. This is not the outcome Tom was expecting after allegedly being diagnosed with dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease in 2021.
Unfortunately for Tom, he’s about to face a jury after he was indicted on allegations he embezzled millions of dollars from clients over 10 years. He was cited with five counts of wire fraud in Los Angeles and eight counts of wire fraud in Chicago. The prosecution also accuses Tom of grifting over $3 million from victims of the Lion Air Flight 610 crash. After trying their hardest to declare him incompetent, Tom and his legal team are now preparing to go to trial. Team orphans and widows! Radar has the details.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum is probably in a tizzy because a surprise outcome showed his previous diagnosis of dementia isn’t going to work out. Previously Tom’s lawyers said he was unfit to stand trial due to his massive mental decline.
The tainted lawyer’s team tried to debate the “experts” employed by the government by saying they were in no way qualified to say Tom has the full use of all of his brain cells. “Given their lack of expertise and experience, it is unsurprising that their opinions lack scientific reliability,” his attorneys said. Further, Tom’s struggling squad noted “three neurologists, two neuropsychologists, one neuropsychiatrist [and] multiple lawyers” confirmed Tom has dementia.
That said, the prosecution didn’t buy it and never did. Additionally, they believe this is a strategy on his team’s part to keep Tom from being in trouble. An earlier court filing read, “His purposeful manipulation of these proceedings to avoid the consequences of a trial in this matter directly demonstrates how cunning and capable he truly is.”
Consequently, the order was sealed by U.S. District Judge Josephine L. Staton while the attorneys for the parties reviewed any information they wished to conceal.
