They came for a hook-ups but left with a greater appreciation for their friendship. Winter House Season 3 was an interesting mix of relationships. Sam Feher and Kory Keefer solidified a situationship. They finally put a label on it while Danielle Olivera and Katie Flood had a good time at the house with their respective crushes.
Neither romance lasted past the vacation. Winter House fans can be reminded of the fleetingness of it all. The only exception being Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula’s marriage. But there was one other connection in the house that merits attention. For those viewers that are interested in cast’s lives once cameras stop rolling, the friendship between Katie and Malia White is really quite touching and going strong. That is, according to the duo’s social media posts.
Malia posted a touching tribute to Katie on her birthday
Katie and Malia met while filming Season 5 of Below Deck Mediterranean. Malia was a bosun at the time, and the New Zealand native ran the interior as chief stew.
Currently, they continue to work on the same yacht and “share” living quarters and an office, Malia revealed on Winter House. And the pair are still the best of friends months after filming wrapped, if a recent Instagram post to honor Katie’s birthday is to be believed.
The Below Deck Med alum shared a series of photos of herself with Katie in various work, travel, and play situations. In one, the Winter House stars captured a moment on the slopes in Colorado.
Malia captioned the post, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my wifey, forever travel buddy, and the best ride-or-die partner in life! Your friendship is the gift that keeps on giving year round and I’m so thankful to have you in my life.”
“Here’s to many more last minute vacations, cabin chats, wiping up the tears and making each other laugh,” she wrote of the tender moments of the friendship.
Malia commended Katie on her memorable personality, perhaps just the kind of person that gets invited back to Winter House.
“Everyone that meets you adores you [and] for good reason— you’re the real Christmas miracle! I love you [Katie Flood] through and through,” the yachting professional concluded the post.
Katie shared her love for her friend in the comments. She gushed, “Omg, you just brought me to tears! I am so happy I get to do life with you and forever grateful for you in my life,”
