Ever since Kyle Richards debuted a new look, her body has been the subject of many rumors. Fueling those rumors about her slimmer frame is her newly sober lifestyle and her split from Mauricio Umansky.
The former has been something discussed at length on the most recent season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Kyle’s castmates have been her biggest critics, constantly questioning what brought Kyle to quit drinking, intensify her workouts, and clean up her diet.
But fans are now wondering if Kyle’s big change is more of a “revenge body” now that she’s separated. The longtime cast member addressed the matter with Us Weekly.
Kyle Richards’ weight loss: “I didn’t recognize myself”
Said Kyle, “It’s certainly not meant to be a revenge body. It’s meant to be an I-feel-good body.”
The actress and producer went on, “I had a breast reduction [in 2022], and I wasn’t able to work out for eight weeks. At the time, I was on vacation in Europe, eating pasta and drinking wine and cocktails.”
Kyle then revealed, “By the end of the trip, I didn’t recognize myself. I had also just lost my best friend to suicide, and I wasn’t taking care of myself. And [it was] making me feel more depressed. So after we left, I said, ‘That’s it. I’m not going to have bad carbs — no sugar, no pasta, no bread, no alcohol. And I’m going to work out every single day.'”
Kyle’s advice
But Kyle insists that she “always worked out but was doing the same thing on repeat,” which prompted a bigger change.
If anyone out there wants to follow in Kyle’s footsteps, she had some advice. “It’s about surrounding yourself with people who will support you. My friends happen to be like me. We want to take care of our bodies and enjoy hiking and then grabbing coffee,” she stated.
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
