Who would have thought that Kristen Taekman would be one of the breakout stars of Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy? Despite having only spent two seasons on Real Housewives of New York City, she’s found herself swimming with the sharks in St. Barths and is handling it like a champ.
Kristen’s co-stars have dragged her for being a “fan” of RHONY, but Kristen has rolled with the punches. But how did she feel when the ladies brought up her husband’s Ashley Madison scandal?
The RHUGT star recently chatted with The Messenger, and it sounds like she wasn’t too worried about the whole thing.
The past is the past
If you don’t remember the Ashley Madison scandal, here’s a quick recap. Ashley Madison was a dating website specifically made for extramarital affairs. In 2015, there was a massive data breach that revealed all of the personal information of some of its users. Kristen’s husband Josh Taekman was one of them. Turned out he was looking for love on the site and going by the name of Mr. Big NYC.
During RHUGT: RHONY Legacy, the messy OGs brought up the Ashley Madison scandal, which could have sent the vacation into chaos. Not everyone is cool with bringing up the husband. However, Kristen revealed that she wasn’t surprised to hear the ladies bring it up. She saw it coming and wasn’t worried about what the ladies had to say.
“People forget that it happened so long ago, dealt with it privately,” Kristen shared. “Josh and I have been married 19 years, together 22. And I’m the only married lady [in the group]! Can’t we concentrate on that and forget about all the other … you know?”
So, it sounds like this was a non-issue for Kristen. Still, she said that after it happened, she FaceTimed her husband to give him a heads-up that they talked about Ashley Madison on camera. Having a husband to lean on is a luxury that none of Kristen’s castmates had, so good for her.
