Monica Garcia’s addition to the cast of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City has been pretty polarizing among viewers. Many love her unique brand of pot-stirring and commentary. Others – even Jeff Lewis – feel that she’s ruining the franchise by coming in too hot, lying, and not being “aspirational” enough in comparison to her castmates’ level of affluence.
Monica also brings another fresh mess to the show – her mom Linda Darnell, a.k.a. LD. Their strained, super-dysfunctional relationship has been showcased throughout the season.
On this week’s episode, the cast took a trip to Bermuda so Monica could celebrate her birthday and visit long-lost family members. Another sad situation that reeked of being LD-initiated happened. Monica’s relatives canceled the meet-up. A sobbing Monica assumed it was because LD turned them off from it. As always, LD – the most parched Bravo mom of all time – publicly responded to Monica’s accusation.
Linda couldn’t help but to make one of Monica’s posts about herself
There’s a whole faction of RHOSLC viewers that assumes everything Monica says is fabricated – even that she has family in Bermuda. Monica took to X yesterday to assert that she did have family there, and they initially planned to appear on camera.
Linda’s made a habit of trolling Monica on social media, and felt Monica’s post was the perfect place to clear her own name.
LD replied, “Are you also going to tell the truth about me not having anything to do with them backing out? Don’t just tell half the truth, tell the whole truth, so help you God.”
Monica hit back at Linda
Monica decided two can play this game, and revealed more of the story, highlighting LD’s need for public attention.
“Linda, I called you tonight. No answer. But I see you’re available here. On an app. Where the world can continue to see this dysfunction. At that time, I did believe that you had something to do with it. Which I told you, on the phone, a couple of days ago. You then talked to me and showed me texts, and we cleared it up, and now I know.”
“However, that does not take away from what I felt and thought happened at that time. I was blindsided and I felt humiliated and embarrassed and crushed. However, I still have no idea what happened and why they backed out. There you go, your name is cleared.”
Monica also scolded Linda for not helping her out. “You could have gone to Twitter and confirmed we have family there since people aren’t believing that, but this is important too. Anyways, I hope you can sleep better now since I have told the whole truth. So help me God and I’ll take all the help from God I can get right now.”
Yikes. Who needs enemies when you have a self-obsessed momster like LD?
