Will Val Chmerkovskiy Return To Dancing with the Stars?

It’s been an incredible year for Val Chmerkovskiy. 2023 started with him and his wife, Jenna Johnson, welcoming their first child. He’s ending 2023 on a high note since he just won Dancing with the Stars Season 32, along with his celeb partner, Xochitl Gomez.

So, 2023 gave Val a baby and his third Mirrorball Trophy. What’s coming up for the dance pro? He recently opened up to Us Weekly about his next moves, and retirement doesn’t seem to be on the horizon.

Val’s plans include a Dancing with the Stars return

You might think that after winning the Mirrorball Trophy three times, Val might be ready to step aside and retire. However, the new dad doesn’t have any intentions of slowing down. He shared that he’s 100% down to come back for Season 33 of Dancing with the Stars.

“I would [return next season]. Listen, if they had me back, I’d love to be back. It’s going to be a tough season to follow,” Val revealed.

Val may have won DWTS in the past, but let’s face it: winning never gets old. He shared, “It feels great. This one feels a little different. It’s been seven years since I was able to be lucky enough to win and to win it with this young lady.”

Continuing to gush over Xochitl, Val added, “Man, she carried us all season. She made me look great as a teacher [and] as a partner.”

Val’s wife Jenna was paired up with Tyson Beckford this season. They were eliminated early in the competition, but she was still behind the scenes supporting Val and Xochitl. So, Season 32 was truly a family affair, and Val opened up about how winning the grand prize felt extra special.

“It’s amazing. I can’t wait to give this to my son,” he shared. “He is going to want to eat this for sure. That is the first thing he wants to have.”

Just let him eat it, Val! There are a couple of other trophies sitting in storage, anyway. And since Val wants to come back for Season 33, there could be a fourth Mirrorball Trophy coming home next year, too.

Dancing with the Stars Season 32 is available to stream in full on Disney+.
