Southern Charm alum Kathryn Dennis just can’t seem to get her act together. Now she’s in trouble again after having a run-in with the law … literally.
A police report described Kathryn’s 2022 Ford Bronco speeding down the street, ignoring the stop sign held by the deputy sheriff serving as the school crossing guard. Fortunately, the deputy only suffered a broken hand, as the vehicle struck her as it passed.
The incident took place at 7:30 a.m. on October 20 at Whitesville Elementary School in Moncks Corner. RadarOnline has exclusive pictures of the mom of two happily posing for police photos with her dog in her arms.
‘The driver did not slow down’
As she directed parents dropping their children at school, Officer Michelle Ward noticed an approaching vehicle that wasn’t slowing down.
“I blew on my whistle and [attempted] to get out of the vehicle’s way,” she recalled. “As I stepped to the left, the vehicle drove past me, striking me on the right side. The stop sign broke in my hand and landed in the roadway.”
Kathryn reportedly didn’t slow down after striking the officer but just kept merrily on her way. It’s like she didn’t even notice she’d hit anyone at all.
Even though injured, Officer Ward attempted to get the license plate of the vehicle, while continuing to hold traffic. She was able to get a partial South Carolina tag number and a description of the vehicle, as well as Kathryn’s physical description.
“Luckily, I turned around to notice that she wasn’t stopping,” added the officer. “Otherwise, I would’ve gotten hit in the back — blindsided … I tried to get out of the way, but I wasn’t faster than the car, unfortunately.”
A drug test confirmed that Kathryn was not using drugs or alcohol at the time. So far, the South Carolina Highway Patrol has yet to file any charges, based on court records.
Fortunately, Kathryn’s two young children with Thomas Ravenel weren’t in the car. Due to her past issues with drugs and alcohol, Kathryn is only allowed to see them under court-ordered supervision.
