Once news broke that Vanderpump Rules star Tom Sandoval cheated on his longtime love, Ariana Madix with Rachel Leviss, the Bravoverse was swift to react. And that included Sandoval’s former bestie, Jax Taylor.
And Jax was an expert on cheating before marrying Brittany Cartwright. Sandoval and Jax fell out before Jax and Brittany exited Pump Rules. And Jax had no problem blasting Sandoval for the way he treated Ariana. Commenting on Scandoval put Jax back in front of Bravo’s cameras in a VPR spinoff.
Why did Jax, Sandoval, and Schwartz try to make peace?
Recently, Sandoval, Jax, and Tom Schwartz decided to reunite at Schwartz & Sandy’s. Jax shared a screenshot from his Instagram Story of the trio on Twitter. He captioned it, “Got the band back together.” From the fan’s reaction, no one wants tickets to that show.
Schwartz told PEOPLE that even though Jax and Sandoval “have been on the outs for a long time,” that they have a long history.
“I think people forget that Tom and Jax have been friends longer than I’ve been friends with both of them. I’m talking almost 20 years,” Schwartz explained. “It’s like sometimes I feel like we’re a trio. We’re like brothers. Those are my Los Angeles brothers.”
He continued, “They’re [the] first two people I met along with Kristen Doute. We all lived together and we were slightly dysfunctional, but we loved each other and we came up together and I have a deep bond with both those guys.”
So, what is the status of the relationship between Jax and Sandoval now? “Sometimes their dynamic, it’s love-hate — maybe more emphasis on the latter lately, but I feel like they had a little breakthrough recently,” Schwartz said. “They’ve been communicating more often.”
He likened the duo’s bond to the movie, Step Brothers. “I think deep down they do love each other at the end of the day. I think I can speak on behalf of them,” Schwartz said.
“They’re also very different people. And anyways, they’re both doing really well right now, and it was really nice to see them together … It was just a really, really great night,” Schwartz said. “It felt cozy and happy, and the holiday spirit was alive and well.”
Only time will tell how Sandoval will be treated by his co-stars during Season 11 of VPR. It will be interesting to see who warms up to Sandoval, and who stays loyal to Team Ariana.
